A 90-minute ride on the express Romance Car on the Odakyu Train line from Shinjuku Station to Hakone Yumoto Station. Then, take a 20 minute bus ride from Hakone Yumoto Station to Jinjashita bus stop with the Hakone Tozan bus or Izu Hakone bus. The hotel is in front of from the Jinjashita bus stop.

One of the main attractions of this ryokan is the hot spring, where both indoor and outdoor baths can be enjoyed. The indoor bath offers a serene ambiance to spend quiet time, while the outdoor bath, surrounded by nature, offers a remarkable experience of bathing while gazing at the scenery outside. As you soak in the hot spring, the gentle breeze and the surrounding greenery create a soothing moment that makes you forget the fatigue of daily life. Additionally, the ryokan's lounge is well-furnished, and the free-flowing coffee is freshly ground, which is a wonderful point for coffee enthusiasts. The Hot Springs Are the Best

I stayed alone to relieve the fatigue from work in the hot springs. As it was a room-only booking, I had dinner near Odawara Station. Be careful as restaurants around Odawara Station close by 8 PM. Eventually, I had a seafood bowl at a restaurant of the Chimney group. Buses are convenient from Odawara Station. Get off at either Jinja-shita or in front of the hotel. The stop in front of the hotel has more buses and is a bit cheaper. The inn seemed to have been renovated from an old lodge and was very clean. The facilities are modern. On the day I stayed, there were so many foreigners that I thought I might be overseas. They were probably enjoying Hakone on a long-term stay. The shared space is equipped with cooking utensils, allowing for self-catering. Everyone was having a great time in their own way. The hot springs include both indoor baths and open-air baths. You need to put on your clothes to go from the indoor bath to the outdoor bath. This time, since it was a cabin, I only had a towel and a toothbrush. I wondered if pajamas were necessary; I just slept in my underwear. The hot springs are spacious and pleasant. The outdoor bath has a faint smell of sulfur. Generally, it is colorless and transparent. The cabin was reasonably spacious and comfortable. There was also a container for valuables. For breakfast, I went for a walk to the Seven-Eleven, which is a 5-minute walk away, for some shopping. Watanabe Bakery opens at 9:30 AM, so it's good for souvenirs. It was a nice inn.

A Great Place to Relax in a Hot Spring

I used a private room, although there seem to be dormitories available as well. The hotel is located in an area rich in Hakone's natural beauty, and it features both indoor and outdoor hot springs, allowing you to fully enjoy the great outdoors. There's also the famous Watanabe Bakery nearby, where you can enjoy delicious bread right at the hotel.

This was my first time using HafH, but I had previously stayed once, so I was a repeat visitor. The structure goes from 1st floor to B1, B2, B3. Unlike my previous visit, there were nearly half of the guests coming from overseas. Many were young people, but there were also older guests. At "Sokokura-no-Yu", one of the seven hot springs of Hakone, you can enjoy indoor baths, open-air baths, and spring water flowing continuously. Dining is available in the lounge. There is a kitchen where seasonings and other items can be used freely, and since there is a refrigerator, some guests prepared their meals easily. I kept it simple this time with a quiche bought at Picot from Fujiya Hotel, bread from Watanabe Bakery famous for onsen stew bread, and soup bought from a convenience store (all within walking distance of the inn). The last time, I went to "Sushi Miyafuji", which was a 3-minute walk from the inn, but it seems to have closed, which was disappointing. You can freely use coffee, tea, and other drinks, so I saw scenes of guests reading books with drinks in hand, working on their computers, or chatting with fellow travelers while enjoying their own ways in the lounge.
