I came to the Hotel Mystays Nishishinjuku this time through HafH. I stayed at this hotel because I was in Shinjuku for work on that day. The access is a 7-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station, so it requires a bit of walking. The front desk is on the 2nd floor, but if you enter from the front, you will need to go up the stairs, so if you're carrying a heavy suitcase, you'll need to go around to the back entrance where the elevator is. (That back entrance was quite far, and it was quite tough dragging a suitcase from Shinjuku Station...) The room type was a single. It was very simple and by no means spacious, but since the bed was relatively large, it was completely fine. Basically, everything you need is there, so I didn't find it inconvenient at all. What surprised me was the layout of the toilet and bath. When you open the door, the toilet is in front, the sink is at the back, and there’s a bathtub further back. I wondered how such a design came to be?! I heard that it was newly renovated and reopened on March 1, 2023, but it seems that the layout didn't change. Since it's right in the middle of Shinjuku, I felt that the use of space is quite a challenge. HafH included a buffet breakfast plan. You will eat at the Shinjuku Gastronomy Club “Amanogawa” on the 2nd floor of the hotel. You will receive a breakfast ticket at check-in, so make sure to give it to the staff. In the breakfast area, there were thought to be over ten people, and I was surprised to see that I was the only Japanese person. Including the hotel staff, everyone except for me was a foreigner. For a moment, I wondered which country I was in. The buffet menu included curry and naan, and there were Japanese dishes, but it was more focused on Western food. It was clear that overwhelmingly many foreign travelers use this hotel. Indeed, I thought this hotel, being in the center of Shinjuku and relatively inexpensive to stay, was perfect for foreign tourists. There are laundry facilities, so there might be many people staying for multiple nights. Although I stayed for business this time, I recommend it to those looking for relatively inexpensive hotels with breakfast included in the Shinjuku area.
