Enjoying Fugu in Umeda 🐡

Stayed in January, 2025

I rented a car at Kobe Airport and stayed two nights by Lake Biwa. From there, I explored Kyoto and checked in in the evening. I met my husband’s acquaintance at a fugu restaurant in Umeda and enjoyed fugu cuisine. The location was excellent, just a short distance from Osaka Station, but it was too close, and the train noise was loud until about midnight. After that, I was able to sleep soundly until morning. Breakfast was served buffet style, and I could choose either Japanese or Western dishes.

Just a minute from Osaka Station! Great cost performance!

A convenient location just a few minutes' walk from the west exit of Osaka Station The surrounding area is attractive with many popular commercial facilities and restaurants like KITTE and InnoGate! The amenity system is pick-up only for necessary items in the lobby. It's nice to have a complete range of skincare from cleansing to lotion. There is no water provided in the rooms, but you can freely use the server set up next to the vending machine on each floor. I only noticed the server when I was leaving... Regarding the sink and shower, it uses a system that adjusts the temperature by providing both hot and cold water, which is something you don't see much these days. While the facilities are undeniably a bit old, considering the rising hotel prices in Umeda and the location, the cost performance is quite good. Also, the early check-in at 14:00 and the late check-out until 12:00 allowed me to enjoy my time until noon, which was great.

Close to the station, but be careful because it’s on the west side

While searching for a place that is close to the station and could be booked on the same day, this place popped up. The room was compact yet clean, and the bathroom was relatively spacious, which was nice. Each floor has a water server, ice maker, and vending machine. However, even though it's close to the station, it's on the west side, so you have to walk quite a bit to get to the east side. The JR station is nearby, but be aware of that. There’s a work desk available, but the chair only has a shallow backrest. You can work, but there’s a TV right in front of you, which can feel a bit cramped in terms of layout. Although I was aware that it was along the train line, I was surprised by how much train noise I could hear with the train view. If you are sensitive to noise, it might be hard to sleep, so earplugs may be necessary.

Perfect for My Train-Loving Son! A Trip with Preschoolers

I impulsively decided to take my two preschoolers to Grand Green and booked this hotel because it was close to the station. When traveling with children, I usually choose places where the bath and toilet are separate, or a hotel with a large public bath, or rooms without sliding doors (due to a past experience of having to pay for damages from broken sliding doors), but since we were traveling by train this time, I judged that a hotel far from the station would not work and prioritized being close to the station. We arrived in Osaka in the evening, procured dinner at the Hanshin Department Store, and checked in. The amenities were located behind the front desk, and you could choose only what you needed, which was nice. Depending on the orientation of the room, the room we stayed in had a view of the JR tracks, and my train-loving son was thrilled. Until just before going to bed, he was gazing out the window at the tracks, excitedly announcing every train that passed by, and even my daughter, who usually doesn't show much interest in trains, seemed to enjoy watching it with him, so I was glad we chose this hotel. Since I had two children sleeping beside me, it was more convenient to have twin beds that were pushed together, and I chose this one because the photo of the twin room made it look like the beds were joined together, but I had misunderstood, as they weren't actually attached. However, the beds could be pushed together by two adults, so we utilized them that way only for sleeping and returned them to their original positions upon check-out. With two adults sleeping between the two children, I could use the bed without worrying about them falling off. Recently, my child discovered the light switch by the bedside, and there were times I wanted to put them to bed but ended up with them repeatedly turning the light on and off. However, in this case, the button was not very noticeable, which helped during bedtime (though I believe it depends on the child). I was also happy that the TV was wall-mounted, eliminating worries about the kids knocking it over. In front of the bed was a long sofa, which was nice for placing light luggage or sitting back and relaxing. The bathroom in the room was a unit bath, not very spacious, but it was fine for one adult and one child to use at a time. The shower water pressure was just right. There was a water cooler and ice machine next to the elevator, making it easy to use. Check-out was smooth, as it only required returning the card to a box located behind the front desk, resulting in no congestion and an easy exit from the hotel.

Just a Short Walk from the New West Exit of JR Osaka Station

This is my second time at this hotel. It's conveniently located within a 3-minute walk from the newly opened West Exit of JR Osaka Station. I had a single room for one, and the size of the bathroom was just right. I was able to relax in my room. The appealing part is the 12 PM checkout time, which allowed me to prepare at a leisurely pace in the morning. I definitely want to use this hotel again.

Just a Minute from JR Osaka Station – Harvis ENT!

I used it for watching a play. It’s less than a 10-minute walk to JR Osaka Station. On the way back, I took the airport limousine bus from right in front of Harvis ENT, which was close to my hotel to Itami Airport. The room was a single room, and I had a comfortable stay. It’s located behind Osaka Mode Gakuen. Mineral water was not provided.

In Osaka, Umeda, lockers were too full, and I was looking for a hotel close to the station to store my luggage. Although there are cheaper places to stay, I prioritized location and booked here, and it turned out to be a better place than I expected! You can tell how close it is to the station from the tracks visible from the facility's window. This might be a pleasant point for train enthusiasts. At the time of my stay, it wasn’t open yet, but KITTE opened right next door, so there’s no shortage of dining options. The west exit ticket gate is also very close, making it convenient for moving around Osaka. The 2 PM check-in and 12 PM check-out are a blessing for someone like me who wants to take it easy. I think with the opening of KITTE, the convenience will only increase, and the coin count might rise in the future. The facility itself feels a bit old, but even with that, I think I will continue to use this place in the future.
