We stayed two nights at omo Hakodate. One day, there was a breakfast buffet. From the morning, sparkling wine, seafood bowls, prosciutto, and cheese were all delicious. Our child doesn't eat raw food, so she had salt ramen and bread. The salt ramen was also delicious and they adjusted it to our liking, such as omitting green onions. The bread was small and there were various types to enjoy. It was a pity that there were few types of fruits and desserts. The hot springs were at a temperature suitable for children, which was just right. Towels were available in the bathroom, so we could go hands-free. The roomwear provided in the room was free size, but my husband changed it to a larger LL size. The station is nearby, which is convenient. It's within walking distance to children's playgrounds, Kids Plaza, and Hakodate Mirai-kan.

I traveled alone to Hakodate and stayed for 2 nights at OMO5 Hakodate by Hoshino Resorts. It's conveniently located just 5 minutes from the station. I was amazed by the stained glass-like wall as soon as I entered! As expected of OMO! Seeing the cute pillows filled me with excitement. The lounge and resting areas before heading to the large public bath were also delightful 🎶 I was able to relax after the bath! The public bath includes an open-air bath and sauna, which healed my travel fatigue. Breakfast is extra. The squid sushi menu had a playful display like a market or shop! I enjoyed the seafood and sushi 🎶 There are also Western dishes like bread, so I never got bored even after multiple nights. I've stayed at various OMO locations, but my favorite OMO in Hakodate ranks high among hotels!

Personally, I loved the breakfast because recently, instead of the usual limitless ikura topping at any breakfast, being able to enjoy unlimited crab nigiri is an excellent idea. They also have various local dishes like squid rice and salt ramen, and I personally found the breakfast to be the highlight of my stay at OMO! It's very convenient to have an onsen sauna near Hakodate Station, and it offers great value for money, so I highly recommend it! The brown, murky water really feels like Hakodate! They even have a free bus to tourist spots.

My First OMO Experience

I stayed at this facility in Hakodate as my first experience with OMO. The location was close to Hakodate Station, so I could walk to the morning market and easily use buses and streetcars to get to Goryokaku, the bay area, and Motomachi! The facility was stylish and relaxing, just as expected from Hoshino, and I had a comfortable stay. Above all, the breakfast was attractive and provided a wonderful start to the day☆ I was very satisfied with the variety of seafood like seafood bowls and sushi, and the drink area even had free sparkling wine, which boosted my spirits in the morning! This facility also has a large public bath. They have proper toiletries, skin care products, and amenities fully stocked, and it was very clean, making it a comfortable experience. Since it was winter, the open-air bath was freezing, but the温泉 temperature was just right and pleasant. It was a three-day trip, and thanks to the accommodation, it turned out to be a very satisfying journey. I am considering doing an OMO tour as a result of this experience.

The building is visible from the front of JR Hakodate Station in just a few minutes. It's just a minute to a large food supermarket, making it very convenient to gather supplies. The spacious natural hot spring has ice candies to enjoy after the bath, and there is a lounge where you can pay for beer while listening to JAZZ. In the evening, there's an open-air terrace with lights that resemble a campfire.

And the best part is, the free loop bus you can use throughout your stay is incredible! It provides easy access to Mount Hakodate, the red-brick warehouses, and the Goryokaku area🚌. My first trip to Hokkaido with the beloved OMO series! I ventured into Hakodate, which had good reviews. It's a 3-5 minute walk from the station. Convenience stores are 3 minutes away. You can get to the popular morning market in just 5 minutes The location is really good. If you want to visit the red brick warehouses, Goryokaku, or the ropeway, you can conveniently take the free bus!! The free buses are a bit limited, but if you miss one, there are plenty of options like the city streetcar and municipal buses. Even taking a taxi to the red brick warehouse only costs about 700 yen. The rooms are simple, but perfect for us who just sleep as we go to the lounge and hot springs ♡ The OMO hotel cafe is very selective, so you must eat there!!! This time I had 3 types of salted fish, squid goro potato, mixed gelato, and craft beer. I ate everything and it was all delicious!!! Even though I’m not good at salted fish, I ended up eating it all by myself ♡ I stayed for 2 nights because there were so many things I wanted to eat at the market, but I didn’t have time to eat breakfast 🙏 I want to do a revenge trip. With this number of coins, I could stay and use the bus. There are hot springs, good atmosphere, and good location. There is nothing to complain about! I will repeat it again ❤️

This place is near Hakodate Station. As you know, it is a business hotel by Hoshino Resorts, which is slightly higher in price for a business hotel, but the rooms are spacious and equipped with a large public bath, resulting in high satisfaction. You can use the free lockers before and after check-in and check-out, making it easy to store your travel luggage. Check-in is a common self-check-in application at OMO. Be careful, as a card key is required before boarding the elevator. On the first floor, there is a breakfast area, and on the second floor, there is a cafe and a large public bath. The cafe has plenty of relaxation spaces, allowing both children and adults to unwind. There was also an area suitable for infants. The rooms are quite large for a business hotel, and since there is a large public bath, there is only a shower in the room. The thoughtful touches, like lockers in the large public bath and fluffy slippers, are appreciated. The large public bath consists of two indoor baths and a sauna, and there are two outdoor baths and a Goemon bath, so it’s okay even if it gets a bit crowded. Since Hokkaido has many inbound tourists, it can get somewhat crowded, but it is close to Hakodate Station and recommended for families looking to save on costs.

A Fulfilling Trip to Hakodate

The hotel was about a 5-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station. I flew in, and the bus ride from Hakodate Airport to JR Hakodate Station took about 20 minutes, so I reached the hotel within about 30 minutes after leaving the airport, which was fantastic as it saved time on transfers! (Typically, it takes about an hour from the airport to the city center.) The hotel was very nice, and the hot spring warmed my cold body and refreshed me after a long day! When I checked on the hotel online, the breakfast buffet was popular, so I paid an additional 3500 yen and decided to include it for one of the two nights I stayed! The seafood, squid rice, and squid dishes were all delicious, but I didn't quite get my money's worth. There's a market nearby where I had grilled seafood, crab soup, and sashimi for breakfast on the third day. There are plenty of affordable places to eat nearby, so it might be nice to go out for a gourmet tour early in the morning! The shuttle bus to the sightseeing spots from the hotel was very convenient, and it was greatly appreciated when I went to see the night view. Just be careful during peak times; you might have to wait an hour to ride the cable car down! (Honestly, I waited 40 minutes and missed the last shuttle bus by two minutes, so I took a taxi back. Hakodate is small, and both the trains and buses are frequent. It's only about a 20-minute walk to the red brick warehouse from the hotel, so you can explore by combining walking, streetcars, and shuttle buses!

I booked a twin room. It was clean✨ It wasn't too cramped; I could open two suitcases. There was a shower, but it was fine since there was a hot spring! I also recommend the sauna and mist sauna. At the entrance of the hot spring, there was corn tea, and it was delicious. I was happy that the pajamas were separated into top and bottom. The toilet and the washbasin were separated. The second floor is a lobby area with a relaxing space. It seems they have cheesecake and alcohol at night. I had a lot of fun.

While my reservation at HafH was for room only, I was able to add breakfast onsite. Being known as a breakfast battle zone, Hakodate offers high-level breakfast options. Seafood bowls, grilled dishes, shio ramen, sushi, and ika meshi were served. When I stayed, a limited-time event called "Winter Squid Festival" featuring the local specialty squid was being held. It seems that limited-time events change with the seasons, so I definitely want to revisit outside of winter. The hot spring had an outdoor bath that was pleasant to soak in. It was convenient not having to bring a towel from the room. They also provided makeup remover. There’s a coin laundry, so long-term stays seem feasible. Payments are cashless. The dryer might be a bit weak; in our case, we had to pay an additional fee to dry our clothes as they didn't dry completely in one round.

The large public bath has an open-air bath and two types of saunas, so you can relax a lot. The snacks sold in the second-floor space were very tasty. It's a space that can be used 24 hours, so I recommend it for staying up a bit late! There was no breakfast buffet included, and I paid extra for it, but I was happy to have seafood in the morning.

After warming up in the large public bath, I went sightseeing. You can easily enjoy Hakodate sightseeing by taking the Hakodate Guruguru free bus. Please note that a reservation is only required for boarding from the hotel. There are towels provided in the large bath, so there’s no need to bring your own from your room. You can move around the facility in your yukata and slippers. The yukata is a cute separate outfit. In the room, there’s a water pitcher, and you can freely bring water from the server. The laundry is cashless, so don't forget to bring your mobile phone.

A New Landmark in Hakodate

This time I decided to book OMO5 Hakodate, which just opened this year! I had previously stayed at OMO in Otsuka, but this was my first time at a local OMO. It’s in an excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from the station. Although it was snowing heavily, I was able to walk here. First, I stored my luggage in the lockers in the lobby and took the free shuttle bus to explore the city. Although the hotel shuttle bus requires a reservation (through a QR code), there was space available, and when I mentioned it to the staff, I was able to board right away. The stained glass in the lobby features many symbolic images of Hakodate, making it really adorable. After returning from city sightseeing, I checked in using a machine, which was easy since the staff assisted me. I picked up the necessary amenities before going to my room. I was a bit disappointed that there was no coffee among the amenities 😢, although there was tea... My room was a twin room on the 9th floor. The entrance was quite narrow (laughing). It’s shoes-off in the room, but in the space to remove shoes, it’s a bit tricky to take them off one by one while opening the door (laughing). The room was very clean! The toilet and shower (which I didn't use since there was a large public bath) were separate. There’s a small refrigerator, and you can get drinking water from the tap in your room 🚰 (which is drinkable) or from the water dispensers on the 6th and 10th floors into the server in your room. Note that ice is only available on the 6th floor. There were also washing machines and dryers on the 10th floor. It's basically a cashless experience. After putting my things away in the room, I went down to the long-awaited hot spring "Amber Bath" located one floor down. It was amazing! There was an adorable video and audio explaining the manners for foreign guests to follow when entering the hot spring, played near the entrance. Since it was a weekday, there were hardly any foreign guests. The women’s bath had two indoor baths, a dry sauna (90℃), a steam sauna (50℃), and a cold-water bath. Outside, there were two outdoor barrel baths for one person and a couple of outdoor bath chairs. It was really nice to soak in the warm water, especially since it was cold outside. The water was really amber-colored; it felt like a powerful Hokkaido hot spring. It's said to flow from its source. The highlight was definitely the steam sauna 🧖‍♀️, where I did three full sets. The hairdryer was a Panasonic Nano-nee (black) which was fantastic. You don't need to bring towels from your room, as they are provided before you enter the bath. Just be careful to bring your room key, as you won’t be allowed to enter the hot spring without it ⚠️. After the bath, I purchased some Camembert cheese and prosciutto from the 24-hour unmanned gift shop on the second floor, and at the café & bar that’s open until 11 PM, I ordered clam chowder, squid goro potato, and two drinks. It was delicious! The food selection isn’t extensive, so if you want to eat a lot, I recommend dining outside. I tried the bus cup herb soda and an adult melon cream soda✨. The dining space is like a lounge, decorated stylishly with lots of cute art, typical of Hoshino Resort—it's a very chill spot. Thanks to entering the hot springs and dining earlier, both the bath and the food areas were very spacious (possibly because it was a weekday?). The lounge might be a bit chilly, so just wearing the hotel attire could be cold; a heat-tech or socks and something to wear over it might be a good idea. I returned to my room and was asleep before 10 PM (laughing). The room was a little dry, so I recommend turning on the air purifier and humidifier. I woke up before 5 AM for the morning bath at the hot spring that opens at 5 AM. I love morning baths. Check-out was at 11 AM. Although breakfast was available for 3500 yen, I passed because I wanted to eat a seafood bowl at the morning market instead. After that, I took the bus to Goryokaku and left the hotel. When thinking of hot spring hotels in Hakodate, La Vista Hakodate Bay comes to mind, but I was definitely right to choose OMO this time! I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay. It turns out there was a plan available for under 5000 yen if you book well in advance on their official site, so I recommend booking on weekends if you’re using hafh. Great for families. I want to come back in a warmer season next time.

Unlimited access to a hot spring with flowing natural spring water. A comfortable space to relax in the post-bath lounge while enjoying the snow scene outside. The room may be small, but having a relaxation area means you don’t have to confine yourself to the room. The hot springs are equipped with organic cleansing, lotion, and emulsion. The hairdryers are Panasonic nano-e. No amenities are placed in the room; you can freely use them from next to the front desk (toothbrushes available). As it’s OMO5, pajamas are free and available in the room. Children’s sizes and larger adult sizes are available at the front desk. It is a dog-friendly hotel with priority seating for pets. Self-checkout is available, so you can buy items easily without staff assistance (Hoshino Resort primarily operates cashless). Laundry facilities are available on the 6th and 10th floors. Washing costs 400 yen for 30 minutes, and drying costs 100 yen for 15 minutes. There are also ice machines, water, and microwaves. The free bus service from the hotel requires prior reservation (information available at check-in). It is conveniently located a 1-minute walk from the ‘Hakodate Kids Plaza and Future Pavilion’—an essential spot for families. This is definitely a hotel you will want to stay at again.

【A Hotel in Hakodate to Get Hooked On】 An Ideal Base for Enjoying Hot Springs, Sightseeing, and Gourmet Food

I stayed there in November 2024. Since it was my first trip to Hakodate, I researched and visited 17 tourist spots and 6 restaurants in advance. Here are three recommendations based on my stay: 1. The hot spring 2. OMO Base 3. Transportation convenience 1. The hot spring The large public bath has natural sodium chloride hot spring water, and it seems to be a free-flowing source. It appears that they dilute the water seasonally, so it might be better to visit in winter to maximize the effectiveness of the hot spring. Inside, there is a hot spring bath and a regular bath (heated), a dry sauna, a steam sauna, and a cold bath. Outside, there are an open-air bath and a tub bath. It was my first experience with cloudy hot spring water, and it was wonderful (^^) There is a towel rack in front of the large bath, so there's no need to bring your towel from your room, and you can use it as many times as you'd like. I went in over ten times during my stay, and I was never bored! The corn tea that you can drink for free after the bath was delicious and highly recommended. 2. Lounge space Among the OMO 5 hotels I've stayed at, this one had the most spacious lounge with a variety of tables and chairs. It felt good to sway in a hammock-like chair after a bath. There are box seats and round tables that are suitable for gathering with family or friends, making it a relaxing place for both groups and solo guests. There is an OMO café, which is convenient for light snacks or drinks. The terrace has a fire pit that is lit after 5 PM. While it might be challenging to feel warm with just this fire in the cold Hakodate winter, it might be nice to use it after a bath. Additionally, the lounge is located on a floor that requires a room key to access the elevator, making it a nice, exclusive space for guests. *After 8 PM, it can get crowded with guests. 3. Transportation convenience Within a 5-minute walk from the hotel, there are the Hakodate Mae tram station, JR Hakodate Station, and a bus terminal. There is also a shuttle bus available exclusively for guests. The routes vary by time of day, so you need to make a reservation based on the tourist area you want to visit. *The operating routes change depending on the season, so I refrained from including images to avoid misunderstandings. Please check the website for more information. Planning your sightseeing route and schedule according to the shuttle bus times might be a good idea. The guest room is simple yet has everything you need. Unlike other OMO hotels, you need to insert your room key to use the lights and electrical appliances when you enter the room, so be cautious. Those familiar with staying in business hotels may not mind this (^^; In the twin room, there didn't seem to be space to open a suitcase, so you might have to place it on the bed. Not all rooms have bathtubs, and it seems some have only a shower booth. With a hot spring available, I don't think you need to use the room's bathroom, but I mention this in case it's a concern for someone. You can add a morning buffet if you pay extra for breakfast. *Depending on the congestion on the day, it may not be available for purchase. You can enjoy a buffet-style meal featuring seafood bowls, salt ramen, sushi, and squid rice that you can serve yourself. Also, sparkling wine is available for unlimited drinking. However, if you plan to explore the market or ramen shops, you might not need the buffet. Furthermore, the breakfast venue is on the first floor, so if there are many people coming and going, cold air might come in, making it chilly. It might be reassuring to have an extra layer of clothing (the guest room attire might be a bit cold). Although it's an OMO 5, it was a hotel with satisfaction levels comparable to an OMO 7.

Since it's cold, first I warmed up my chilled body in the amber bath ♨️... The next morning at 9 am, there are only 8 spots available for a neighborhood tour of the Free Market, so definitely give it a try! Also, it was great that before check-in and after check-out, I could leave my luggage in a locker and head out into the streets of Hakodate!

I stayed for two nights for my trip to Hakodate. It was close to the station, and I could drop my luggage in a locker and head out sightseeing right away. The bus was very convenient! However, I thought it would be necessary to make an early reservation because the first bus at 9 am on weekends gets fully booked. We couldn't make a reservation due to exceeding capacity, so we headed to Goryokaku by streetcar.

Since it was before the official opening this spring, I chose this hotel for my second trip to Hakodate this year. Check-in was smooth with a touch panel, and I could see the JR train tracks from my window. I wondered if I might catch a glimpse of the Shinkansen, but it doesn't reach Hakodate yet, haha. I immediately headed to the large public bath, and I didn’t need to bring towels from my room, as they were available at the entrance. It was a nice bath with both a sauna and an outdoor bath that warmed my body. However, I was surprised to see some people unaware of etiquette wearing slippers in the washing area and the bath. They had a video explaining how to enter the bath, but maybe they didn't cover the shoe situation. There were three shuttle bus lines dedicated to OMO, which was convenient. My room had only a shower, but since the toilet was separate, it was not inconvenient. The breakfast looked appealing, but there were many things I wanted to eat in Hakodate, so I decided to skip it this time. I have decided on this place for my stay in Hakodate next spring.

We stayed as a couple with our 3-year-old child. We made a reservation for two adults and mentioned over the phone that we have a child who sleeps with us, and it was no problem. The room was similar to a regular business hotel, but the onsen and the relaxation space after the bath were amazing. Our child, who usually dislikes onsens, seemed to really enjoy the hot spring here, able to stay in for a long time and even went for a morning bath with us. After our child went to sleep, the adults went back to the bath and ordered a drinking set. The beer and salted squid were fantastic. We paid extra for breakfast, and it was simply the best. Everything was delicious. There were many squid dishes, and we were satisfied with Hakodate.

I stayed with my 5-year-old daughter for sightseeing. There was a seafood market and Hakodate Station nearby, and there was a bus service that took us to tourist spots, which was really great. This was the only OMO series hotel with a hot spring. The breakfast buffet was also rich in variety, and it is definitely advisable to include it. I will definitely stay here again when I go to Hakodate.

My first time in Hakodate, a two-night three-day trip. It was almost unplanned, but thanks to the OMO shuttle bus, I was able to visit many major tourist sites! I was surprised to find the hotel’s large public bath was a salty onsen colored like milk coffee. There was a steam sauna, and I was very satisfied. I was delighted to find corn tea available after my bath. The stylishness and comfort of the relaxing space were exceptional.

2024/11/7〜飲み友と2人でわりかん2連泊しました。 ホテルの設えや温泉については他の方も沢山記載されているので、個人的にホテル選びで重視しているポイントや良かった点などを。 ◆アクセスやシャトルバス ・函館空港→ホテル最寄りの函館駅までバスで500円位 ・函館朝市は徒歩圏内 ・五稜郭や金森レンガ倉庫や自由市場はOMOからの無料バスで行けるが、五稜郭方面は午前中2本のみだった。ゆっくり回りたかったので帰りは市バスを利用。函館山方面は便多めな模様（今回は利用せず） ◆ホテルについて ・アメニティが少なめかも。浴用タオルがないのが残念。でも温泉のタオルは使いたい放題なのでそれが理由かな。化粧水その他も温泉の脱衣所に置いてあるもののみ。一応売店に使い切りのセットも売っていたが、こだわる人は持参が良い。 ・ブーツを履いていたため、室内用のスリッパだけでなく館内移動用にウー⚪︎ォスのような柔らかスリッパが用意されていたのがありがたかった。また柔らかポリのミニバッグも1人1つずつ用意されており、温泉や朝食・ウォーターサーバーや氷をとりに行くなどでも気軽に出入りできて最高❣️ もちろん室内着（セパレート）でウロウロok👍 ・『冬のイカ祭りフェア』をやっていたので、イカゴロディップポテトとビールのセット+通常メニューのクラフトビール&塩辛3種食べ比べセットをお風呂上がりに注文。お腹いっぱいだったのにぺろっと食べれてしまうほど最高に美味しかった！🦑🦑 ・2泊目のみ朝食を利用。（1人3500円） 海鮮は言わずもがな、個人的に意外なところでコーンスープがこっくり濃厚で劇ウマ🤤2杯もおかわりしてしまった。朝からスパークリングワインを飲んだくれ。大体の函館グルメを満喫できるので1回は絶対利用した方が良き。 ◆従業員さん 星野ブランド故なのでしょうか、どの方も親身に接客してくださり気持ちよく滞在できました！おすすめスポットなどもたくさん教えて頂きました。 総じて素晴らしい体験ができました。また函館に行ける時がきたら真っ先に候補に入れて予定を立てたいと思います☺️✨

Hakodate Station is within walking distance, making it easy to access both the JR line, streetcar, and bus! I love the OMO series and have visited many, but Hakodate's OMO ranks among my favorites! The breakfast buffet, which I was most looking forward to, starts at 6:30 and no reservation is needed! I used it on a Sunday morning, and I arrived about 15 minutes early, being the sixth group in line! Those who arrive earlier are guided to positions closer to the buffet. Since there are many seats and it’s spacious, I recommend lining up early if you prefer a closer spot! *DIY seafood bowl You can load it up with as much salmon, scallops, and sweet shrimp as you like! It's cute, served in a star-shaped dish inspired by Goryokaku. * Sushi They prepare two types of sushi right there! I think it was crab and cod that day. Freshly made sushi is delicious! *Shio ramen You can top it with butter, corn, and Kamegome seaweed. It was light, so I could enjoy it even in the morning. *Ikameshi They have ikameshi from Abe's shop, which is popular even in food exhibitions. It was delicious, so I want to buy it the next time I see it at a food exhibition. There were also many other Hokkaido specialties like yogurt, cheese, and Hakodate milk. Sparkling wine was also all-you-can-drink, which is great for those who enjoy alcohol. I couldn't eat everything in a day, so I think staying multiple nights would be a good idea. Hakodate's OMO also has hot springs! Since there are hot springs, the rooms only have showers. In other OMOs, loungewear is often charged, but here it is provided for free! Towels are available separately from the room towels, with face towels and bath towels prepared in front of the hot springs, so you can take as many as you need. I thought this was convenient for those who want to go to the hot springs multiple times. Next to the towels, there was corn tea provided after the bath. The corn tea after the bath was delicious. The post-bath relaxation lounge is a great place to relax, so I felt it was nice to be able to chill with family or friends outside of the room. I was so impressed with this place that I want to go back to Hakodate just to stay here! When I travel to Hakodate next time, I want to book here again!!

I booked this place because I'm a fan of Hoshino Resorts and was attracted by the dedicated bus service. This was my second stay in Hakodate, following my visit during the Golden Week. During the GW, it was crowded, and we hardly did any sightseeing, so it was great to easily access Goryokaku Tower and Mount Hakodate by bus. We also enjoyed the market tour activity together with my child. At night, I had a set of local beer and salted squid at the post-bath lounge. It was a type of beer I had never tasted before, and it was incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, I stayed up too late and missed breakfast. The hot spring isn't very large, but I loved the mineral quality and went in multiple times. It was nice that I didn’t have to bring towels from the room. My child looked forward to ice cream after every bath. The lounge's interior was very lovely, with a lot of Mina Perhonen cushions lavishly used, which really lifted my spirits.

The hot spring had two types of saunas and plenty of washing spaces, making it comfortable to use. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel for sightseeing around Hakodate (reservation only from a QR code distributed on the day of check-in), so if you align your schedule, it’s very convenient to explore for free. There are lockers on the first floor, so I could leave my luggage after checking out and go out, making it easy to enjoy sightseeing around Hakodate. The cafe on the second floor also offers light meals like clam chowder.

I originally stayed here during a business trip and found it so wonderful that I returned with my grandchild. The free shuttle bus from the hotel takes you to various tourist spots in Hakodate, making it easy to get around. In the morning, it takes you close to Goryokaku, and there are also buses to the red brick area and Motomachi. The service even runs at night to Mount Hakodate, so you feel like you can go anywhere in Hakodate from the hotel. Reservations are needed to board from the hotel, but you don't need reservations from the various stops, which is convenient for when you're tired and want to head back. Since we can walk to the morning market, we mainly had breakfast there. We used the hotel buffet only once, but it was worth the price. My grandchild seemed to enjoy making the seafood bowl by themselves. I definitely want to use this hotel again when I visit Hakodate!

I think everyone has uploaded their rooms and the omo base, so I wanted to mention the free lockers available for guests, which you can use even on your check-out day, allowing for sightseeing without bags! There’s also a free sightseeing bus, which is nice. 🐖 There’s a rental electric bicycle next to the guest-only parking, although I’m not sure if it’s exclusive to omo, it’s very convenient! 🐖 I want to return since it’s close to the station and the morning market. You can take the bus from omo with a QR reservation in advance and it seems you can go see the night view as well.

As someone who loves OMO, I visited Hakodate again this May because OMO5 Hakodate opened. The hotel is newly built so it's super clean! The hot spring is spacious and really nice! It was also great to know the congestion status of the bath. The resting area is lovely! Convenient since it's close to the station! It was easy to be sent to the ropeway station with the hotel bus.

As soon as I checked in, I went to the large public bath and coincidentally found it empty, allowing me to relax in a private space. The open-air bath felt amazing. Of course, there was ice cream after the bath, but it was great that bath towels were provided, so I didn't have to bring one from my room to use the bath! The lounge on the second floor also had something like swings, making it cozy to spend time there. Many guests enjoyed drinks on the outdoor terrace, and I thought it would be nice to do the same when my kids grow up. Hakodate Kids Plaza and the station are just a short walk away, and the streetcar is close, making it convenient for sightseeing! Breakfast was also very delicious! I heard that ika-meshi (squid rice) goes well with mayonnaise, so I tried it. I want to visit this hotel again!

We stayed with our family just after the opening in July 2024. Although I wasn’t aware of it beforehand, I learned that there was a fireworks festival that day. I hesitated to take my small children out into the crowded night, but when I mentioned it, they kindly checked and said, 'You can see it from your room!' After the fireworks, we enjoyed a bath in Hakodate's unique brown hot springs, and the atmosphere and service by the bonfire afterward were very satisfying◎ Breakfast was delicious, with seafood and bread, especially the rich and tasty Hakodate milk! When the air conditioning in the breakfast area was too strong and my kids complained of being cold, the staff promptly approached us and checked several times to see if we were okay. Next time, I would like to stay for about two nights and three days at a leisurely pace♪

The breakfast restaurant features a beautiful design with high ceilings reminiscent of fishing boats. Even when crowded, the high ceiling reduces the feeling of pressure. Breakfast prices are on the higher side, but the variety available exemplifies the fierce competition for the number one breakfast spot in Hokkaido. You can enjoy both sashimi bowls and nigiri sushi. It's disappointing that the sashimi bowl isn't the type you make yourself, but it might be just right for the lazy. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it seems there are fewer dessert options, so let's enjoy the main dish to the fullest!

This is a new hotel that just opened in July. It is conveniently located not far from the station. The urban OMO features simple bathrooms and showers, but this Hakodate OMO has a large hot spring bath. The brown hot water is soothing. There are also saunas, mist saunas, and cold baths, making it enjoyable for sauna lovers! You can relax in the lounge with an ice candy after bathing, enjoying drinks, coffee, and light meals. The atmosphere is stylish with vinyl records playing, perfect for unwinding. Additionally, there is a sightseeing bus from the hotel, and if you make a reservation, you can take it after checking out!

It was easy to find as it is stylishly designed and close to the station. Like other OMOs, there is a system to take amenities from the first floor. Lounge wear was available for free rental, including options for children. I participated in the ‘Super Satisfied! Morning Market Specialty Store Tour.’ It’s a service I highly recommend when staying at OMO. I can learn about local information, which is always useful to refer to. I was amazed by the quality of service, asking myself if this was really rated 5 stars. There’s a large public bath, and ice cream after bathing, making for a very satisfying experience.
