HafH (an acronym for Home away from Home) began offering its worldwide “all-you-can-stay for a flat rate” service from April this year (2019). HafH welcomes residents from all walks of life, and aims to bring diversity to, as well as encouraging travel to, regional areas throughout Japan with projects like its Diversity in Residence project.
Vol.1 of Diversity in Residence saw artists staying at HafH, while Vol.2 centered around a traveling chef staying at locations within the HafH Network across Japan. For Vol.3, called Martial Artist in Residence, professional fighter Shinya Aoki will stay/live at HafH Network locations around the world for one year! Furthermore, there will be a talk session with The Breakthrough Company GO’s representative director Takahiro Miura, held in July (2019).

About Shinya Aoki
Shinya Aoki was born on May 9th, 1983 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He started Judo classes in elementary school and in 2002, was selected for the national championships. While attending Waseda University, Shinya moved from Judo to MMA (mixed or combined martial arts), where he became a Shooto middleweight world champion. After graduating, he joined the Shizuoka Prefectural Police. However, after two months, Shinya left the force and decided to go back to MMA. He is now a world lightweight king with both DREAM and ONE FC MMA organizations.
