Experience of the stay
This was my first visit to the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka✨ It felt unique to have a club benefit plan with Hafh…!? 😳 But I was curious about what to expect…🥹 I needed quite a few coins and was worried about failing…😭 But to cut to the chase, it was the most amazing hotel stay ever! 👍 First, I went to the 6th floor’s dedicated check-in counter for the club lounge. At this point, I didn’t have my key, so I needed to ask a staff member for access. I was shown to a sofa and received a welcome gift!✨ Since I arrived around 11:30, I was told, "We can only show you to your room around 14:00," so I headed to the lounge first, where the staff opened the door for us. (The restrooms are outside the lounge 💦) I was looking forward to the lounge, and it exceeded my expectations! 😳 The decor was very nice, and there were plenty of refreshments available. The drinks included: Coffee machine Canned juices, canned oolong tea Fruit juices Sparkling water (Perrier bottles) And more. The refreshments included: Cakes, tarts Chocolates Cookies Chocolate financiers Chocolate-covered granola And sweet treats, plus savory options like: Tortilla chips with three types of dips Cheese balls There was even a sauce made with Hakata mentaiko, which felt very Fukuoka-like 😂 As I relaxed, about an hour later the staff said, "Your room is ready," and handed me the key. They informed me that my luggage had already been taken to the room. It turned out I unexpectedly got an early check-in, so I headed to my room right away. The room had a river view overlooking Nakasu, and it was spacious enough. I was particularly pleased that the bath and toilet were separate! The shower was equipped with a Rifa showerhead, and the bathtub was quite large✨ The amenities were nicely packaged by Balmain. The clear shower room felt just like a high-end international hotel! (laughs) There were two complimentary bottles of mineral water and instant coffee, plus a paid minibar. The fridge was a bit cramped for personal items, though. After relaxing for a bit, I headed to the pool & spa. It usually costs 2000 yen, but with this plan, the swimsuit rental was free! The locker room was a short distance from the pool and spa, but there were towels and gowns placed everywhere for free use, so it wasn’t a problem. I went to the pool first, where there was a lifeguard, and they even loaned out hats and prescription goggles. There was a heated jacuzzi next to the pool. Later, I moved to the spa, where there were hardly any other users around 15:00, making it quite comfortable. To my surprise, our room was on the same floor as the club lounge, so before returning to my room, I visited the lounge again for some cold oolong tea. Since my body was warm, it was a pleasant surprise to find a kotatsu outside😳 It’s wonderful that they provide a way to enjoy the outdoors even in winter. They set up the kotatsu and heater for us at night. Upon heading down to the lobby to go out, I spotted a cake shop, and it looked so delicious that I bought three types and asked them to hold them until the evening. At 17:00, I enjoyed the much-anticipated cocktail time. You could drink alcohol until 21:00. Though they unfortunately didn’t have champagne, there were wines and sake available. The selection from healthy appetizers to main dishes was quite impressive✨ I ended up drinking so much that, predictably, I got tipsy😂 Back in my room, when I opened the cakes I had reserved, they were bigger than I had expected, providing a great sense of satisfaction. They seemed to be available in the café as well. The next day, I had breakfast in the lounge around 09:00. It was bustling, just like cocktail time the day before, but I managed to get in without waiting. Breakfast was quite luxurious as well, with chefs preparing egg benedict and omelets, and there was even a seafood donburi I could make myself, which was super satisfying. With checkout at 12:00, it was fantastic that I could relax after breakfast as well! The checkout was simply a matter of returning the key to the lobby, but I stopped by the lounge beforehand. I had one last ginger ale, and with a feeling of nostalgia, I left the hotel, promising myself I would definitely come back… It was genuinely a wonderfully satisfying stay, almost making me worried if this plan didn’t have any extra fees…!? 😅 I will work hard to save coins so I can stay again💪 I hope this helps someone!
Experiences during the trip
I arrived in Fukuoka around 10:30, so I headed to "Hakata Chuka Soba Kinosuke" on foot from Hakata Station for a meal! It’s quite rare to find a ramen shop in Fukuoka that isn’t tonkotsu and is open this early… and to my surprise, they even serve breakfast ramen! 😳 Since it was my first visit, I ordered the classic "Chuka Soba". The soy sauce soup was rich but didn’t feel heavy even for breakfast, and I polished it off quickly. After we entered, more customers continued to flow in, and it seemed popular among the locals. Hakata Station was beautifully lit up, as it is every year, and this year was no exception✨ However, the Christmas market was overly crowded, as always… 😮‍💨
