Easy to Sightsee! A Resort Healed by Hot Springs and Nature

Hakone is a popular area rich in hot springs, beautiful nature, and sightseeing spots. I stayed at "Hakone Yutowa" this time, which is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Gora Station, appealing with its modern Japanese atmosphere and hot springs. "Hakone Yutowa" is a stylish hotel that combines a modern design with the calm atmosphere typical of a hot spring inn. The lobby was spacious, featuring a stunning floor-to-ceiling bookshelf. The warm wooden space left a comfortable impression. There are also ample shared spaces, including a workspace and relaxation areas, allowing me to leisurely enjoy various spaces beyond the room. I stayed in a "twin room" that blended modern design with elements of Japanese style in balance, providing excellent relaxation. The hot spring offers a spacious public bath and a private bath. The private bath is free to use, allowing me to soak comfortably by myself. Since breakfast was included, I enjoyed a buffet-style meal featuring local ingredients from the morning.

5 minutes on foot from Gora Station. Although there are many steep slopes in Gora, this hotel can be walked to on a flat road from the station, making it recommended for those without a car. Yutowa claims to be an all-inclusive accommodation, but the hub plan does not include dinner. Although it can be added for a fee, both my husband and I don't drink alcohol, so I thought there wasn't much benefit to going all-inclusive. Therefore, we used restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel for dinner. The charm of Yutowa is that you can enjoy a stay immersed in books in the relaxing library lounge that adults can also enjoy. Since the building was previously used as a training facility, the guest rooms are simple, but in exchange, there are plenty of play areas to enjoy with children and lounges where groups can gather happily. During early mornings and the time before check-in, you can use the lounge very quietly, which was great for spending time alone. Additionally, the fact that you can use the private bath and foot bath without a reservation and for free, and the good access from the station, making it easy to enjoy just around the hotel are also charms of Yutowa.

Relaxing Family Trip!

Finally got to stay at the famous all-inclusive Yutowa! It’s very close to Gora Station, and there’s parking, which is great for families with kids! The facility was filled with kids, and there were amenities, a kids' room, a variety of drinks and snacks, and even desserts at night!! The terrace had a footbath, and there were many picture books and comics available! The room was clean and had plenty of space! What I liked the most this time was the private bath! (There are two) Since it’s not by reservation, you can go in if it’s open at that time, but if you check it regularly, it’s surprisingly available! I usually struggle to take my child alone, but this time we could all go in together, so we were able to relax a bit more! The bathroom was spacious and upbeat! The reservation at Hafh included only breakfast, but there was a rich variety and the food was delicious!

A Relaxing Stay with Kids

This spring, I went on a trip to Hakone with my preschooler who will start elementary school this spring. Although you cannot make a reservation for children at HafH, I made a reservation for adults only, and when I contacted the hotel in advance, they were very helpful. Also, while the HafH plan only allows for breakfast-inclusive bookings, I was told that if I contacted them in advance, I could pay an additional fee to allocate dinner. There are a few shops near Gora Station, but our family wanted to relax at the hotel, so we requested dinner! (Adults + ¥7600 with all-you-can-drink. Preschoolers (co-sleeping) were charged a facility use fee and dinner buffet for an additional ¥2000) Yutowa was appealing due to its all-inclusive nature, and I was really looking forward to going there. The facility was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Because I contacted them in advance, they even pushed the twin beds together for us and prepared amenities for the child. The lounge is available from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and you can drink as much as you like at any time. It seems okay to take drinks back to the room. In the lounge, snacks are available from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and sweets from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Also, from 7:00 PM, alcoholic drinks are available. This time, the desserts were pumpkin pudding, sweet potato cake, and chocolate cake! In the spa lounge, there were popsicles, small packs of milk, detox water, and other drinks available, which was perfect after soaking. There was a kids' corner, manga corner, and table games corner, so although I wanted to relax in the room, there was a lot to keep my interest◎ I didn’t use the foot bath since it was winter and cold, but I’d like to go at a different season next time.

Had a Relaxing Time

During the January long weekend on Monday and Tuesday, this time I stayed here with my wife to take it easy after the New Year instead of sightseeing. There was a snow forecast, so I took the train, but it was actually pleasantly warm for Hakone. I stayed overnight with breakfast included, and since the library lounge served alcohol from 7 PM, I went to Odawara Station's Uoriki to buy some rolls. Checked in around 3:30 PM. I expected to see many foreigners, but surprisingly there were many Japanese families with small children. There were two private baths available without reservation; I attempted to use them twice but gave up as they were occupied. They must be popular with families. After relaxing in the large public bath, I casually had dinner at the Gyoza Center. It was just a 5-minute walk from the inn. After a light meal, I drank heavily from 7 PM until 10 PM with the alcohol service. Beer was all-you-can-drink. From 7 PM there were only Kaki no Tane (rice crackers), so bringing your own snacks was necessary. My wife had some sweets. Until 7 PM, it was a snack corner, and the surrounding children were very happy. However, I wondered if having two meals meant you couldn’t have dinner. Breakfast was a buffet, and there were quite a few options. In the end, I went to the large public bath three times; it was colorless and transparent with not much sulfur smell, but it warmed my body up greatly. There was also a sauna. While the two meals were labeled all-inclusive, it was almost the same for just breakfast. It was a place where I could take it easy and enjoy myself.

The large public bath provides Sekkisei cosmetics, and the lounge is equipped with power/Wi-Fi + drinks/snacks available for free usage, along with a lot of popular comics on top of books :) It's a bit disappointing that there is no open-air bath, but instead, there is a sauna, and although there is no dinner offered, there is a delicious breakfast buffet with about 50 varieties. For me, who wanted to escape the daily hustle and bustle and relax, this hotel was the best choice. (There is a refrigerator in the room, so you can bring in your dinner as well.)

With a foot bath and a family bath, we were very relaxed. It wasn't mentioned, but dinner isn't included; however, breakfast is a buffet from 7:00 to 8:30. There is also a drink bar, and at certain times, alcohol is available for free. I would love to go back to this inn. There is a large free parking lot too. It’s very close to Gora Station.

When you book through Hafh, breakfast is included, but you can add a dinner buffet for an additional fee (+7,600 yen, with all-you-can-drink alcohol for 90 minutes). Since there are few dining options around, I think it's more comfortable to spend the evening at the hotel for dinner. In the shared space, there is a drink server, and depending on the time, cake and alcohol are also available. In addition to the large public bath, there is also a private open-air bath that can be used for about 30 minutes if available, so you can enjoy the hot springs.

[Reason for Stay] I had visited Hakone before, but I had never stayed overnight, and I was attracted by the all-inclusive option. [Room] It's beautiful; it would make great memories if you stayed with someone. You hardly spend time in the room as the hotel facilities are comfortable. [Meals] Breakfast was included, but dinner wasn't, so I added that. The alcohol was all-you-can-drink, and it was a half-buffet but delicious. It’s a bit pricey, so it's nice to have the option to grab a bite at the Gyoza Center nearby. From 7 PM, you can enjoy alcohol and dessert in the lounge comfortably (there's a beer server). [Spa] It's a large public bath but a bit shallow. There’s a sauna, and it's clean, so that's nice. There's a footbath in the courtyard, which is beautifully lit up at night. [Exploring the Town] Since it's Gora, there are many attractions like the ropeway station, and if you extend your visit, you can go to Hakone Renaissance or the Open-Air Museum. [Impression] The all-inclusive option is irresistible for alcohol lovers. You don't have to go out at night, and you can enjoy it until 10 PM. Plus, the all-you-can-eat milk and ice cream were a fun bonus.

The atmosphere of the courtyard and the library was perfect for relaxing alone, and I was very satisfied! I read interesting books in the library while eating snacks to my heart's content, and when I was satisfied, I just went to sleep in my room! Just going a little far away made it feel like a real summer vacation, a great place to be.

This was a lodging facility I had seen in an advertisement and wanted to visit. I decided to go because I wanted to check out the library lounge. Although I made my plans just before the Obon holiday, thanks to HafH, I was able to organize my schedule. The library lounge, which was the purpose of my trip, offered free snacks, desserts, and alcohol at night, making it the perfect space for everyone to spend their time as they wished. On the day I stayed, it happened to be their 5th-anniversary celebration, so I was able to enjoy a live performance in the courtyard. I spent a relaxing time watching the bonfire. Since there was a library, I thought I would indulge in a luxurious time, so I got up early and concentrated on reading in the library lounge. There were a few other guests with the same intention, and we couldn't help but chuckle at the situation. There was also a manga corner, so those who like manga can have fun as well. The hot springs were comfortable, enjoyed both at night and in the morning. I was delighted to find a sauna as well. It was a space where you could enjoy a hotel stay even during the hot summer without even needing to go out.

I used this place for a solo parenting trip with my 8-year-old and 5-year-old! The evening snack service and the dessert service at night thrilled the children. Since I couldn’t get into the large public bath with them, the free private bath was a nice point! After the kids went to bed, I enjoyed some quiet reading. It was easy to access even without a car, being close to the station! I will use it again.

We found Yutowa when we wanted to take a hot spring trip with the family. The design of the facility was unique, and we were able to play, relax, and soak in the hot springs multiple times, creating an unforgettable luxurious trip. It was great that there were spaces for the children to play. The room was very beautiful, to the point where we wanted to enjoy our time in the facility instead of going around Hakone. The breakfast was simply delicious, and the Japanese-style breakfast and vegetable-centered morning meal left a lasting impression on me. I want to stay with my family again on a special occasion.

I used this accommodation for a mother-son trip with my kindergarten son. They provided us with a train view room where we could see trains from the window, complete with box seats designed to resemble those on a train and even the conductor's uniform! My son, who loves trains, was already excited just being in the room. The lounge had many books and comics, where we could relax while enjoying drinks and snacks. Additionally, the kids' space and foot baths were a hit with my child, making for an enjoyable time.

We stayed as a family of four: two adults, one elementary school student, and one preschooler. For the two children, the preschooler counted as a co-sleeping infant, which incurred a small additional fee, and the elementary school student had a charge slightly less than that of an adult. Both options included breakfast, so I thought it was worth paying the extra cost. There happened to be a summer festival and a stamp rally going on, and we enjoyed festival snacks at night. The drinks were plentiful, the scenery was nice, and the kids were thrilled. During the stamp rally, we had fun looking for stamps together with the children while exploring the facility. After the hot springs, we enjoyed free drinks and ice pops, which was a great help for traveling with children. My husband woke up early and enjoyed the empty lounge.

Second Time Repeat! An All-Inclusive Accommodation

This was my second stay! We stayed with two adults and one 2-year-old child who slept with us. Children under two can sleep for free. We stayed in a semi-double room, and although it was cramped with one bed, three of us could still sleep there. It might be tight if the child is bigger. This room had a very low coin count, but despite that, we could still use the lounge and hotel facilities just like other rooms, making it a very cost-effective stay! Breakfast buffet was included in the plan. Dinner was not included, but if we wanted to add dinner, it was possible for an extra charge. This room does not have a washbasin, and there is only a small washing faucet in the toilet. I felt a bit uneasy brushing my teeth and washing my face there. There is a reserved bath very close to the room, so I waited for it to be available to borrow the washbasin there to brush my teeth and so on! If you want to relax in a spacious room, this might not be the place, but it's very nice to use the lounge and large public bath facilities for this coin count. I would definitely like to repeat it.

The greenery of the courtyard is soothing. You can experience a hammock. There was a bonfire next to the footbath, where foreign guests were relaxing. There are many delights like drinks, snacks, ice cream, and milk after a hot soak.

Although it wasn't mentioned in the plan description, breakfast buffet was included! Dinner had an additional charge, which was 7600 yen per adult at that time. In the hotel library lounge, there is a drink bar available until 12:00 AM. From check-in until 7:00 PM, there were snacks like popcorn and biscuits available. I was able to relax while reading manga and books. From 7:00 PM, it became a sweets corner with petit cakes and cream puffs. Since Children's Day was approaching that day, there were kashiwa mochi and mitarashi dango available! From 7:00 PM, there was also an alcohol corner offering draft beer, sangria, whiskey, and liqueurs. The large public bath doesn't have an outdoor bath, but there is a beautiful indoor bath with stained glass-like windows and a microbubble bath. There's also a sauna! Just outside the large bath, there are milk, coffee milk, detox water, and ice candies available, making for a very thoughtful stay. On the same floor, there is a kids' space and a hammock, and outside, there is a foot bath and a fire pit area where the children happily played. There are two types of private baths, 'Healing' and 'Harmony', which can be used when the sign says 'Available'. There is a rule of 30 minutes per group, so I waited on a bench outside and could enter right away! For breakfast, there were ramen, curry, negitoro don, french toast, and although the buffet wasn't very large, there were plenty of items, and I was completely full. I was very grateful for the kindness shown, such as lending a disposable apron to my 2-year-old child and promptly bringing me a spoon and fork when they dropped them.
