Solo Travel with Two Meals Included, Enjoying the Hot Springs

This time, I stayed at this accommodation on a solo trip to Chichibu. Since the accommodation is away from the station, the reviews from everyone were really helpful. Everything from the shuttle from the station to adding dinner and breakfast can be done through correspondence with the accommodation via the inbox. The pick-up is available from Seibu-Chichibu Station and Chichibu Railway Station at 3 PM, 4 PM, and 5 PM. The drop-off from the accommodation is at 9 AM, 10 AM, and 11 AM. The addition of meals is 4080 yen for two meals, which is reasonable. When arriving by shuttle bus, they greet you warmly. After completing check-in, there's a welcome drink service until 6 PM, with options of tea and sugar rusk. I arrived around 4:15 PM, so I had dinner at 6 PM and went for an early bath, the large public bath has a sauna as well, and it's relaxing. The large public bath and the outdoor bath are in separate locations. The outdoor bath is available for private use until 6:30 PM, after which it's free to enter. Dinner is arranged so that even if you're alone, you won't feel out of place. The dishes were not particularly unusual, but it was a splendid course meal. I ordered draft beer and sake. I was quite full. After dinner, at 7 PM, I went to the outdoor bath; it was almost private, which was a good timing. By the way, the large public bath is from hot springs, whereas the outdoor bath seems to be heated water. You can bathe in the evening as well, but I was tired and went to bed. The next morning, I took a morning bath and had breakfast at 8 AM. Breakfast is a buffet, with specified seating, showing thoughtful consideration. In the morning, there were local flavors like pickled shaku-sai and spicy konjac, which were delicious. After eating, I hurried to the outdoor bath, which was open until 9 AM. The building is old, but all the staff were kind, and the interior was kept very clean and comfortable to stay. However, the single room is on the first floor, so if you are sensitive to noise, note that the boiler noise can be heard at night. Despite being the peak off-season, the place was quite full of guests.

The hotel is located along the Yokose River, offering a lovely location, but it is a bit far from the station, so those traveling by train or on foot will need to be picked up from either Seibu-Chichibu Station or Chichibu Railway Chichibu Station. Pickup requires a reservation in advance, but they accepted reservations via HafH message instead of by phone. The building is old, but the onsen area is clean and newly renovated, as expected of an onsen inn. There is a large public bath and an outdoor bath, both of which allow you to enjoy the hot spring while relaxing and taking in the view of the valley. I went into the onsen multiple times, and there were moisturizers and lotions available, which was nice because my face didn't feel tight. There are chairs and hammocks outside the lobby where free welcome drinks are served, so during the warm season, it seems like a great place to relax and enjoy nature outside.

I stayed in a single room in October 2024. I think it is the perfect accommodation to relax my mind and body, which I usually overuse. I believe all aspects - location, hospitality, meals, price, and hot springs - are excellent. However, since there are few open-air and indoor baths, it may not be suitable for those who want to try various types. ●Details Baths: Joint open-air and indoor baths (also available in the room), sauna, and cold bath Yukata: Available Room: Standard (not too narrow, not too wide) Amenities: Regular and large towels, yukata, toothbrushes, etc. Work: You can work at the room desk (the lighting is bright). The lounge is usable at night, but the lighting was dim (it is just bright enough to manage. No power outlets available) Meals: Dinner course and buffet breakfast can be added (a bargain price of 4000 yen set) Smoking: Smoking area available Car: Parking available (free) Others: Free shuttle to Seibu Chichibu Station or Chichibu Railway Chichibu Station *Both the open-air and indoor baths can be used at night (from 3 PM to 9 AM the next morning). The open-air bath is an indoor bath facing the river. You can hear the sound of the flowing river far below and the splashes of the bath water, making it a pleasant experience. The temperature is about 41 to 42 degrees Celsius, based on feeling, and is recommended for those who like hot baths. One wall of the open-air bath is open. Although it is an indoor area with a roof, it does not provide complete openness, but it feels very nice. *The room has a desk, and the lighting is sufficient for the interior, so even though the desk is somewhat small, you can do simple work. There is an extension cord next to the desk with two outlets. There doesn't seem to be power near the bedside. There is no USB port. You will need a charger with a power outlet. *The meals include a dinner course and a breakfast buffet, which can be selected. The prices are very reasonable, and the taste is certainly excellent, as expected from a long-established establishment. You can enjoy delicious dishes that utilize the nature of Chichibu and local sake (for additional fee). I had a tasting of three types of sake and Chichibu beer. Dinner can be chosen from three types of times: 6 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7 PM. *The room is not spacious, but it is sufficient for sleeping. It is a Western-style room, and although it's not a large Japanese room, considering the price, I think it's very cost-effective. Parking is free, and there is a shuttle from the station, but considering sightseeing, I believe it is best to use a car (the bus back departs at 9, 10, and 11 AM, providing free transport to either Seibu Chichibu Station or Chichibu Railway Chichibu Station). Although the hotel is an older establishment, I didn't feel much of its age and was able to spend comfortably. *Interestingly, there are various experience corners inside the hotel, such as places to paint nails, a spot to blend original tea herbs, a place for bird watching, and puzzles for children, making it very unique and interesting compared to other hotels. *I didn't know, but it seems to be a well-known hotel that has won various awards from Rakuten and Jalan. *Reception is on the third floor, and the baths are on the first floor. However, the ground level is adjacent to the third floor, and the baths are located in a position that feels like the basement two floors down. You can see the river far below. *The large public bath and open-air bath are adjacent, and you cannot go back and forth while naked (you can wear a yukata), but they can be used at night from around 3 PM to 9 AM the next morning. However, the open-air bath is limited to two groups each at 3:30 PM, 4:30 PM, and 5:30 PM for private baths. Therefore, they cannot be used during that time (after 6:30 PM, anyone can use them. If you are staying multiple nights, you can also use the baths from 12 PM to 2:30 PM). The private open-air bath is 2500 yen for 45 minutes for one group. *Within the hotel, you can use a karaoke room (for a fee) and free table tennis (30-minute intervals). This is based on my vague recollection, so I apologize if there are any discrepancies (for accurate details, please check with the hotel).
