A beautiful and new hotel opened in July 2021. Check-in is done via a machine. 【Room】 Upon entering the room, there were proper slippers... There were sandals/slippers at the entrance, but I wondered if it was okay to use them indoors, so I later confirmed at the front desk (laughs). They said it’s fine to use them both indoors and outdoors (within the hotel). The familiar non-woven slippers were under the TV stand. Also, the dryer bag and bath bag were so cute that I took a photo. I also spotted the bath bags for sale in the shop next to the front desk 👀. There is a chair and a round table, so doing PC work or eating is not a problem. Uh... I couldn’t find my favorite baggage rack 🥺. 【Bath】 While there is a proper bathtub in the room, this hotel has separate large bathrooms for men and women as well as private baths… so I paid for the private bath! (I found out through the hotel's guide on the TV homepage) I prefer to bathe alone, so I’m not a big fan of public baths, but since I could enjoy it alone, it felt a bit luxurious. 2000 yen for 45 minutes [as of March 2024]: payment at check-out. I called the front desk to make a reservation. A few minutes before the reservation time, I went to the front desk to get the key. The bath floor has a resting area and a water server. The back is for women, the front is for men, and the middle is for private baths. (The large bathrooms have a number code to enter, which I received on a paper at check-in). When I entered the private bath, the door closed automatically, but if I fumbled at the entrance, it would open again (laughs). If you get too close, it will open again, so I had to manually close it and check that it wasn’t opening before I settled down in the changing room. I was a bit panicked alone lol. I was a bit confused by the unfamiliar dryer shape, but I just agreed it might be a space-saving design. Some skincare products from a certain brand were placed, and of course, shampoo and other essentials are provided, so you can come empty-handed. When going to the large bathroom, they had told me at check-in to "bring towels from the room," so I brought some when going to the private bath as well, but they were provided here, presumably they prepare enough for the number of reservations. Additionally, there were drinks in a mini cooling/heating box. Since it was available for free, I tried it after the bath. 【Access】 It’s a 4-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, passing through the bus terminal along the tracks. If you go out to the road from the station rotary, there is one traffic light to get to the hotel, but you can go along the tracks without hitting any signals.

I wanted to go to 'Shirakawa-go' with my friends during winter, so we decided to stay at a hotel that had a large public bath and would elevate our spirits, and we chose 'Hotel Around Takayama'. As I expected, it was an incredibly uplifting hotel◎ The designs painted on the walls of the hotel were really cute, and the folder you receive at check-in is adorable, too. I even asked, 'Wait, can I have this?' (You can't, haha.) There were also cute illustrations in front of the elevator that conveyed the charm of Takayama! On the first floor, there were 100 cards introducing Takayama on display, which were also lovely, and I had a hard time deciding which one to take home. The room was spacious and provided a comfortable environment◎ The chair and table were also cute...! I was extremely satisfied with the large public bath and could relax thoroughly!

When I entered the entrance, there was a stylish 360-degree front desk. A large map with tourist information and 100 kinds of specialty cards. I was at a loss about where to go ww. The station and downtown were close, so I could spend my time conveniently, and there was a big public bath to relax; it was perfect for city sightseeing☆. Breakfast could be chosen between Japanese or Western style; I chose Japanese. It was just the right amount and delicious‼︎ A stylish and luxurious breakfast from the morning‼︎
