Incredibly Clean & the Nearby Bathhouse is Amazing!!

It was super clean, so it must be newly built! Also, it was the right choice to buy bread for breakfast! I was surprised when I toasted it with the coffee machine and Balmuda toaster in the lobby! The croissant was crispy and about twice as delicious! I can see why the Balmuda toaster was a bit of a topic on TV! Haha.

My First Fairfield

I took a trip to Gujo using my holiday at the beginning of the year. As the Little Kyoto of Oku-Mino, I had always wanted to visit after seeing it on social media, so this was a long-awaited visit. The accommodation I chose during my stay was this one. I knew that Fairfield is a Marriott hotel near a road station, but this was my first time staying there. While it’s reasonably priced, I wondered how it would compare to other cheaper accommodations if you're considering staying without meals. However, being part of the Marriott chain, it did not disappoint. The room was clean, and while simple, it also felt high quality. I stayed alone, but I enjoyed the luxury of a king-sized bed, haha. The shower room is simply designed without a bath, but there are hot spring facilities nearby that you can buy tickets for at a discount at the front desk, so I recommend it for those who want to relax in a bath. I focused on sightseeing and explored the area around Gujo Hachiman, which is two stations away, but I was satisfied, thinking that it’s also a nice hotel for relaxing during your stay. I would love to stay here again when I come to Gujo, and if they ever hold the Fairfield tour event again, I would definitely want to participate.

A Stylish Luxury Inn Surrounded by Nature

To put it simply, it was a stylish and service-oriented inn! First of all, it is attached to a roadside station, where you can enjoy looking at souvenirs, meals, and public baths! When you step into the inn located in the natural streets, the atmosphere changes completely, and I was surprised by its chic and cool appearance. The lobby features spacious seating. I was comfortably watching web videos with a can of beer I bought at the counter. There is also free access to a coffee server and hot water, so there were guests having breakfast there. The room was even more stylish! No walls or partitions, it was spacious! The futons and pillows were fluffy and comfortable. Amenities were also sufficiently provided, and having sleepwear was particularly helpful. Inside the room, there is only a shower and no large bath facilities, so if you want to take a bath, you need to go to the super sento nearby. I actually went to the super sento where there was a slide in the outdoor bath for men, which seemed to be a great place for families. However, it was crowded probably due to it being a holiday, and the changing room and dining area were busy with people. Also, there is no breakfast, so I recommend preparing meals the day before or buying bread and yogurt from the small shop at the inn's counter. There is a convenience store 1 kilometer away from the inn, so it may take a little effort if you plan to go shopping at night. In summary, the inn is for resting and relaxing, the bath is at the super sento, and meals are at the roadside station, beautifully dividing their roles to create a fantastic facility, making it an attractive hotel. I think you can check out satisfied, so I recommend it.

Traveling with a Baby Was Worry-Free!

We stayed with our 1 year and 3 months old son. It was our first time traveling in a room with a bed, and I was a bit worried, but they lent us a bed guard and even had it set up for us since I had informed them in advance, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time. They also prepared a diaper bin for us, and the items were placed in just the right position so that the baby couldn't reach them. We were able to close the door between the bedroom and the washroom to prevent the baby from wandering off, making our trip with the baby hassle-free. Moreover, it was really nice to see how clean everything was.

初めてのHafH利用に浮足立って、現地で写真を撮り忘れてしまいました。しかしウェブサイトやブログなど巷にあふれる写真のままです。ゴミ1つ落ちていない整いすぎた非日常空間でした。ちなみにHafH利用者限定のオリジナルステッカーをいただけましたよ（添付画像はそれです）。以下には特によかった点を2つ書きます。 1点目に部屋やベッドの広さに外資系ホテルならではのゆとりがありますから、普通の日本のビジネスホテルのような窮屈感がありません。3人家族（子どもは小1）はキングベッド1台で大丈夫でした。同行した親戚の4人家族（子どもは小1と年中）もツインルームのベッド2台で問題なかったようです。ベッドに高さがありますがフロントに言えばベッドガードを借りられます。気密性・防音性も高いようで、寒さも物音もまったく気になりませんでしたね。 2点目に隣接の道の駅との連携がよく、とても快適です。温泉の大人入浴券をホテルフロントで100円引きで購入できます（子ども入浴券は温泉側の券売機で買う必要があります）。温泉のタオルは有料ですが、宿泊者はホテルのふかふかのタオルを持って行けます。必ず持ち帰るようにしなければなりませんが、いわゆる使用済みタオル返却ボックスを元々（あえて？）設置しない仕組みを採用している温泉なので、誤って投げ入れてしまうこともなく安心です。温泉は女湯・男湯が週で入れ替わり、片方に子どもが喜ぶ滑り台が付いています（ウェブサイトで日程を確認できます）。温泉施設内レストランも17時台は空いていて快適でした。以上のように総じて満足度の高いホテルでした。宿泊日が郡上八幡城もみじ祭りの初日と重なっていたためか、直前には公式ウェブサイトで1泊5万弱（通常の4倍ほど）まで宿泊料金が高騰していましたが、HafHでは変わらず400コインでした。HafHとフェアフィールドとの相性はいいですね。ロビーの共用スペースのコーヒーマシン・インスタント味噌汁・バルミューダトースターなども嬉しかったですよ。

I had a comfortable stay, using it as a base to explore Gujō City in Gifu Prefecture. The lounge area was equipped with spacious tables, relaxing sofa seats, and a pleasant terrace space, ensuring comfort in every seat. In addition to coffee and tea, they even offered instant miso soup for free, making it perfect for a morning wake-up or a refreshing break during work. Having these drink services made little breaks even more enjoyable. Additionally, at check-in, there was a request to participate in a questionnaire, and in return for your answers, you receive different rewards from the hotel! This time, I was given tea, allowing me to savor the rich nature of Gifu in a delightful sip.

I stayed with my family of four, including an 11-year-old and a 6-year-old. Since children under 12 are free up to the number of beds, we chose a twin room. I think this setting is amazing for families with elementary school children. The facility was very clean. The room was super stylish. The staff was friendly. In the lounge, there was a microwave and a coffee server, and coffee, tea, and miso soup were available for self-service. Next to the front desk, you can buy rice balls, frozen pizza, and alcohol. There is quite a large roadside station adjacent where you can enjoy meals, free foot baths, hot spring facilities, and morning markets. However, be careful as most dining establishments close at 6 PM. The restaurant inside the hot spring facility is open late, but there is only one. It gets quite crowded, so I recommend making a reservation before bathing. It’s best to visit the morning market right when it opens. The pears I wanted were sold out. I learned a lot this time. For those who read this and are planning to go, please take this as a reference.

Enjoying a Relaxed Country Stay

On my way to Fukui via Gifu from Nagano, I was drawn to stay here because of the adjacent roadside station. There was a roadside station right next to the hotel, so shopping was very convenient. Additionally, I was able to use the day-use onsen at a discounted rate for hotel guests. When I brought back some salt-grilled sweetfish I bought at the roadside station, I coincidentally stumbled upon a doburoku festival happening in the hotel lobby, so I enjoyed the sweetfish while sipping doburoku, spending a blissful time. The morning market had customers lining up before it even opened, and it was bustling right after opening. Coincidentally, I had stayed at the Fairfield by Marriott Takayama Shirakawago the day before, and the layout of the room and lobby here was almost identical, which was an interesting déjà vu experience. If you're planning to stay at both places, be careful not to mix up the rooms.

Visit Gujo Hachiman, This is the Place!

It was the last day of a three-night trip. The first two nights were in a small room, so the room here was spacious, very clean, and comfortable! The bed was high; it felt truly international 😆 It was a very pleasant room. Right next door, there was a large roadside station, and the hot spring facilities were well-equipped.

I ended up visiting Gujo Hachiman and made a reservation using a split payment with my friend. The hotel was clean and new, and I felt it was a great deal to stay at a Marriott hotel for this price. Both the room and lobby were stylish and I could spend my time comfortably. With an onsen and roadside station nearby, it was very convenient to complete bathing, dining, and souvenir shopping all at once. Located in a lush and quiet area of the mountains, I was able to refresh both my mind and body.
