JR函館駅から徒歩わずか3-5分。OMO5函館は、朝市での新鮮な海鮮探訪、赤レンガ倉庫での優雅なティータイム、そして函館山からの息を呑むような夜景観賞など、函館の魅力を存分に楽しむための完璧な拠点です。
無料シャトルバスが市内の主要スポットを巡るため、観光がより一層便利になります。客室は決して広くはありませんが、大きな窓からは駅と港の絶景が広がり、その眺めは私たち二人の心を癒してくれました。
このホテルの共用施設は本当に素晴らしいものでした。琥珀色に輝く温泉、木の香り漂う本格的なサウナ、そしてスチームルームで、一日の疲れを癒した後は、オープンスペースでくつろぐことができます。函館ビールと絶品フライドポテトを片手に、窓の外に舞う雪を眺めながらソファでのんびりと過ごす時間は、まさに至福のひとときでした。
特筆すべきは、OMOホテルならではの充実したラゲージロッカーサービス。手ぶらで観光を楽しめる嬉しい配慮です。

Whether you're craving fresh seafood at the morning market, yearning for an afternoon tea at the historic Red Brick Warehouses, or dreaming of the legendary night view from Mount Hakodate, everything is within easy reach. The hotel's complimentary shuttle service makes city exploration even more convenient.
While our room was compact, it was thoughtfully designed with large windows offering sweeping views of the station and harbor - just right for two travelers seeking comfort with a view. But it's the hotel's public facilities that truly captured our hearts.
The bathing area is a sanctuary of relaxation, featuring an amber-colored hot spring, a wooden sauna room, and a steam room. After soaking away the day's adventures, we found ourselves in the open lounge area, where magic happens. Picture this: perfectly seasoned French fries paired with local Hakodate beer, snow falling gently outside the window, and the most comfortable sofas to sink into - it's the definition of pure bliss.
True to OMO's reputation for thoughtful hospitality, the hotel offers abundant luggage storage facilities, allowing guests to explore the city unburdened. It's these little touches that make OMO5 Hakodate not just a place to stay, but a part of your Hakodate story.

数年ぶりの函館は、冬の装いをまとった美しい街でした。滞在時間は短かったものの、函館の魅力は少しも色あせていません。
五稜郭の星形の要塞、歴史が息づく赤レンガ倉庫群、そして函館山からの絶景は、まさに函館観光の王道です。特に朝市では、新鮮な海の幸が堪能できる海鮮丼との出会いが待っています。キラキラと輝く新鮮な刺身が贅沢に盛られた丼ぶりは、まさに北海道グルメの真髄です。
そして、地元の方お勧めの昆布！小樽と比べると、なんと半額程度でお買い得です。函館で昆布を買っておいて正解でした。
冬の函館は観光客が少なく、ゆったりと観光を楽しめますが、一つ重要なアドバイスを。道路は凍結していることが多いので、滑り止め（アイゼン）の装着か、防滑機能付きの冬靴の着用が必須です。安全第一で、冬の函館の素晴らしさを存分に楽しみましょう。
Though our stay in Hakodate was short, this winter visit after many years proved that some places never lose their charm. The city's iconic attractions - the star-shaped Goryokaku Fort, the atmospheric Red Brick Warehouses, and the magnificent Mount Hakodate - remain as captivating as ever, especially when draped in winter's pristine white.
One absolute must-do is visiting the Morning Market, where the seafood bowls are nothing short of extraordinary. Picture this: glistening fresh sashimi artfully arranged atop perfectly seasoned rice - it's a taste of Hakodate's maritime bounty at its finest. Here's an insider tip: the market is also the perfect place to stock up on kombu (dried kelp). We later discovered that the same kombu in Otaru was nearly double the price - talk about a savvy shopping decision!
Winter brings a peaceful calm to Hakodate, with fewer tourists crowding the streets. However, here's a crucial piece of advice for winter visitors: don't underestimate the icy conditions. Investing in slip-on ice cleats for your shoes or wearing proper winter boots with good grip is absolutely essential. Trust me, this small preparation makes a huge difference in safely enjoying your winter wanderings through this charming port city.
While our visit may have been brief, it was rich in experiences and discoveries, proving that Hakodate's winter charm is truly worth experiencing, even if just for a short while.
