It is a hot spring resort, a highland resort tourist destination, and a place where agriculture and dairy farming are thriving. That is "Nasu". Based on the concept of "sitting around a large dining table," there are three types of content: "MARCHE" (direct sales shop) where you can enjoy the morning market on a daily basis, "TABLE (dining)" where you can enjoy dishes using the ingredients, and "YADO" where you can make it a base for your trip to Nasu, which is full of charm. Please enjoy a place where visitors can encounter the delicious food of Nasu, share the deliciousness with everyone at a large table, be full of smiles, connect with each other, and become like a family embraced by Mt. Nasu.

[Solo Travel] Found a Nice Inn in Kuroiso, So a Quick Trip to North Kanto

[Reason for Stay] I chose to experience this inn in Kuroiso as it seemed like a good place in far-off northern Kanto. [Room] It was an 8-person shared dormitory, but I had it all to myself during my stay. [Meals] I booked with breakfast included. Simple, but sufficient. [Hot Springs] No hot springs, but there is a shower. Since I was the only guest, I could freely use the restroom. [Exploring the Town] There are scattered restaurants throughout. It seems that mainly the locals frequent these spots, so rather than being lively and boisterous, there are many places where you can enjoy a quiet drink. During the day, it feels like a café town. [Impression] As an accommodation, it is fine, but the floor is bare concrete, so it can feel quite cold. It might be suited for a large group looking to have a lively stay. There were private rooms available, but I do not know the prices.

Used for exploring the town of Nasu. It was conveniently located within walking distance from the station. A stylish inn with an attached restaurant and souvenir shop, and the breakfast was delicious. The restaurant space was very spacious and seemed suitable for events. The third floor was a shared space, and I could go out to the veranda.

I booked without much knowledge on my way to Tohoku, but it is located in the center of Kuroiso. The staff were all polite and the service was pleasant. There is a pay-what-you-want drink option, and there is a shop on the first floor where souvenirs can be purchased. I will definitely come back when passing through this area again.

In the Kuroiso area of Nasu-Shiobara City in Tochigi Prefecture, I stumbled upon a lovely hotel that captivated my heart. Until now, I had the impression that Tochigi was mainly known for popular tourist destinations like Nikko and Utsunomiya, but it feels like I’ve discovered a hidden gem. In front of the station, there are stylish restaurants, a library, and attractive shops lining the streets, making it an area that is enjoyable even if you use public transportation. This travel story will provide you with plenty of experiences centered around the hotel. I will detail the names and information about the shops I visited, so please save this as a reference for your favorites. First of all, I would like to introduce the charm of the hotel itself, "Chus." On the first floor, there’s a select shop featuring a range of carefully sourced craft items and foods from across the country, which is exciting just to look at. You can find locally produced items from Kuroiso, such as spices, fruits, vegetables, coffee, and even cheese—perfect for picking out special souvenirs. Further inside, there’s a cafe space where you can enjoy drinks and food for eat-in. One of the highlights is the spice curry made with abundant Tochigi ingredients. When I visited, three types of curry were available, allowing me to fully enjoy the local flavors. The menu seems to change regularly, making the prospect of trying something new on a return visit another joy of this place. The curry shown in the photos also includes one I had on a different day. You can enjoy it without staying overnight, so if you're planning to visit Kuroiso, be sure to stop by. On the second floor, the hotel space opens up. The design of the shared spaces is particularly wonderful, showcasing a refined sense of style. There are many beautiful spots that make you want to take photos, ensuring a stimulating experience. Additionally, there’s a lounge where guests can mingle, making it a great way to spend your time relaxing with friends or enjoying unique encounters with other guests.
