Comfortable Hotel with the Sea in Front of You

We stayed as a family of three with our daughter. On the way to visit my grandmother living in Kano from Fukuoka, I learned that a Marriott hotel had been built along the way and decided to stay there on a whim! I often use Marriott hotels, so I felt reassured. The room we checked into wasn't sea-facing, but when I asked the front desk if there was a paid upgrade available, they offered an upgrade for 1,500 yen, and I happily accepted! The front desk staff were really kind, and my stay became very comfortable. There are no restaurants in the hotel, but there are plenty at the roadside station next door! Just be aware that they close early! There's also a convenience store next door, so I didn't feel much inconvenience. And above all, the beautiful sea visible from the room! I'm really glad I upgraded. Just looking at Sakurajima and the sea made my stay so happy.

I drove along the coast heading to the hotel. From the hotel, you can see both the mountains and the sea. This was my fifth stop on the stamp rally, and I enjoyed the local specialty 'Kagoshima-grown green bean potage soup.' You can enjoy roasted sweet potatoes and puddings bought at the roadside station along with coffee from the hotel’s first floor.

The base for this trip was the Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Tsurumizaki Sakurajima. The hotel is appealing for its excellent location overlooking Sakurajima. Right after check-in, I headed to the lounge on the first floor, where free drinks including coffee, tea, and even miso soup are available. The coffee was a fragrant cup made from freshly ground beans, perfect for waking up in the morning or enjoying a break in the afternoon. The lounge is equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets, making it very convenient for when work is needed. Local crafts and interior decorations are displayed in the lounge, and books are available to learn about the region's history and culture, keeping me entertained throughout my stay. The guest room was simply luxurious, clean, and comfortable. I was able to spend time relaxing on the sofa or working at the desk, making any moment enjoyable. The consideration of providing water and tea was also a nice touch. The highlight is the stunning view from the lounge and the terrace on the 4th floor. Right in front of me was a sprawling beach and the majestic Sakurajima. Enjoying a morning view of Sakurajima while being caressed by the sea breeze (bringing my own bread) was the highlight of this trip. The wonderful location and attentive service truly made for a rejuvenating stay!

This trip was to Kagoshima. The weather was nice and it was just the right time of year, I think. It still felt warm. The hotel had an excellent location. There was a beach where I could take a stroll, and it was not crowded at all. I fully enjoyed my time. The hotel staff were friendly and provided wonderful service. All the staff at the Marriott were kind.

I stayed there only one night but I definitely plan to stay there longer next time. I loved the design of the room and common space where we could get ice and drinks 24 hours. It’s a clean, tidy and clean, comfortable hotel. (Also spacious!!!) the family mart is in the same area(in front of the hotel) Highly recommended!!!!! We’ll be back!!! Already looking forward to my next visit!!!!
