Walking through a colorful front and café area, the guest room is surprisingly simple in design. It is more than enough for a solo stay, but might feel a bit cramped for two. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out, making it convenient to explore and shop nearby without the burden. It is within walking distance to Nishitetsu Tenjin Station and Fukuoka Subway Nanakuma Line Tenjin-Minami Station, providing excellent access.

I stayed at lyf, which I've been curious about ever since it was added to HafH! It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it's fun to pass through the deep streets to get to the hotel. The colorful decor and the open atmosphere of the lounge create a nice vibe. The laundry and corridors have fun designs that make you want to explore! The room is compact but comfortably designed, allowing for my carry-on to fit under the desk.

A Safe and Stylish Compact Hotel for Solo Travelers

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days from January 26 to 28. They can keep your luggage even before check-in. It's about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin Station, and the path is well-lit even at night, making it safe. Once I took the elevator to the 3rd floor, I was greeted by a cute lobby that lifted my spirits. There were spaces where everyone could relax freely and also areas to enjoy time together. The hotel is equipped with a shared kitchen, refrigerator (not in rooms), and laundry (no detergent needed). If necessary, dishware and an electric kettle can be brought into the room. There's a café bar where you can enjoy drinks and meals for breakfast as well. The room comes with a shower room but no bathtub. There are plenty of outlets around the bed, and two USB ports are available. It's very clean and comfortable to use. Amenities are well provided, and there is free Wi-Fi as well. I think it’s suitable for solo travelers, friends, work trips, and various purposes. During my stay, there were some rainy days, but they lent me an umbrella, which really helped a lot despite being a small gesture! I highly recommend this exciting hotel where you can relax comfortably☆☆

I chose it for its cost performance near Tenjin Station. It was for two people, but it was so small that it was difficult to open the suitcase, and a large suitcase seemed impossible. Perhaps because it is a new facility, despite being small, there were clever touches like a safe and space under the bed to open a small suitcase, as well as hangers to place clothes. However, the water area was also cramped, and you could hear everything, so it felt a bit awkward. It’s small even for one person. The shared space seemed spacious and was nice.

Lounge: Yes Recommendation: ★★★☆☆ (3 stars) I stayed at the lyf Tenjin Fukuoka. The standout features of this facility are its modern design and cleanliness. It also has a lounge and a communal kitchen, making it suitable for longer stays. Although the lounge is a bit smaller compared to other facilities, it has power outlets, making it a lovely space to work. The rooms are designed to be compact, which is great for solo travelers. Additionally, it’s a bit of a walk from Tenjin Station, so if you have large luggage, taking a taxi from Hakata Station or Fukuoka Airport is recommended 🚕.

A very stylish modern hotel, I took the elevator up to check in and entered my room! I remember there was a stylish bar-like shop on the lower floor, and there was a very cool foreign staff member! I bought orange juice there! The interior of the hotel was very stylish and cool! Please stay here when you visit Fukuoka!

I stayed for 2 nights from Friday for a Saturday live show. I was torn between staying near Hakata Station or Tenjin, but I chose this place for its atmosphere and price. It was within walking distance from Tenjin Station. I was concerned about the lack of a refrigerator in the room, but I used the shared refrigerator and had a cooling bag with me, so it was no problem at all. There was also drink service, which I enjoyed. The hotel’s overall atmosphere and the room’s vibe were unique, and I particularly loved how bright and spacious the bed was. There were plenty of dining options within walking distance, so I could enjoy some time alone, especially with the recommended map I received.

I stayed for three nights during my summer vacation. Even though it was during the hot summer season, the proximity to Tenjin Minami Station was very helpful. From the large window in my room, I could see the scenery of Tenjin, allowing me to enjoy a lovely view both in the morning and at night. I did laundry during my long trip, but there was a drum washer and dryer on the lobby floor, which was convenient. The lobby lounge is very stylish, offering billiard tables in the evening and terrace seating, allowing me to relax and slowly spend time editing photos taken during my trip or planning for the journey. It's compact and convenient, perfect for solo travelers who want some private time.

This type of accommodation was new to me, but it was surprisingly comfortable. The bed was spacious, so it was sufficient just for sleeping. The room and the lobby area had a cute artistic vibe. The refrigerator and freezer were shared, which was a bit inconvenient, but if you don't need to buy such items, it's probably sufficient. At night, it got dark and there were few people around, so it felt a bit scary, so I recommend returning a little early at night.

It’s an 8-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station. The route might be a bit tricky, but if you know what the hotel looks like, it stands out. The lobby and shared spaces are colorful and pop, and the coin laundry looks just like in the pictures. You can feel the playful spirit in the walls of the guest rooms.

This time, I used HafH to arrive at lyf Tenjin Fukuoka, located in the Chuo Ward of Fukuoka City. lyf Tenjin Fukuoka is a new hotel that opened in June 2021 and is the first hotel in Japan under the lyf brand by Ascott Group, based in Singapore. It’s a hotel that promotes co-living and is filled with excitement. It's located about a 10-minute walk from Tenjin Subway Station, so if you don’t want to walk, taking a taxi from the station may be a good idea. The entire building is not a hotel; only floors 3 to 8 are the lyf Tenjin Fukuoka, and other floors house different tenants. When I visited, I thought the bustling customers on the 1st floor were hotel guests, but it turns out that the 1st floor is a wine bar unrelated to the hotel. Be careful not to confuse the hotel entrance with the entrance to the shop on the 1st floor. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor, where you will find staff to inform them of your accommodation. Check-in is done by scanning a QR code on your smartphone and entering the required information. It might be a bit tricky for those unfamiliar, but the staff will support you with how to use it. The lounge area on the 3rd floor has a colorful and pleasant atmosphere. The whole decor is original to lyf Tenjin Fukuoka, brimming with its own unique perspective. The room I stayed in was a Studio Double. It’s not very spacious, but the decor and indirect lighting create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The mugs provided are cute and original to lyf Tenjin Fukuoka. There was a notice placed with the kettle written in Hakata dialect, adding to the local vibe. Since this is not a Japanese company hotel, it only has a shower, with no bathtub. The shower can switch between a handheld shower and a rain shower. There’s a fairly spacious space near the bed for small items, and having outlets and USB ports on either side is convenient. Being a foreign-affiliated hotel from Singapore, lyf Tenjin Fukuoka has a unique atmosphere that you won’t find in Japanese hotels. The pop and cute decor makes it a fun place to be. I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a stylish place near Tenjin.
