Check-in: 16:00~ Check-out: 11:00 When I stayed, the hotel's cleaning was completed early, so I was allowed to check in at 15:00 ⭐️ When I informed the reception about my luggage, they gave me a number tag, allowing me to store my bags even before check-in 🧳 The free space on the first floor can be used freely, and there were various facilities available, including: ・Free drinks (cold water, hot water) ・Refrigerator ・Rice cooker ・Microwave ・Oven range ・Dishes ・Washing area ・Toilet Additionally, there was a bar where drinks and light snacks (side dishes) could be purchased 🍾 The hotel has a total of 10 floors, structured as follows: ・Double Room: 6th to 10th floors ・Dormitory: 2nd to 5th floors The 6th floor is a women's only floor, which I believe would allow women to stay safely and comfortably. Finally, when I asked the staff about the clientele ratio, they mentioned the following: There were many international guests during my stay. ・Japanese: 20% ・Foreigners: 80%

I chose this place for its proximity to the station. However, while it's close to the exit, the ticket gates are far. A city trap (laughs). There were more foreigners than I expected. It has a vibe similar to IMANO TOKYO GINZA HOSTEL, where I usually stay (also available via hafh). They can hold your luggage, the female dorm is relatively clean, and the common space on the first floor is quite spacious. There’s a water server too. However, there are no free drinks, so bring your own. The dormitory didn't feel too cramped, and there were simple lockers available. Would definitely return.

It is ideally located within walking distance from Ueno Station, making it very convenient as a base for sightseeing or business in Tokyo. The access to popular spots like Ueno Zoo and Ameyoko is excellent, and there’s almost no stress related to moving. The café lounge on the first floor is a truly pleasant spot to relax. The spacious environment is perfect for remote work or some light tasks. Recently, there has been an increase in guests from overseas in the lounge, creating a vibrant international atmosphere. It's common to see guests chatting with each other in English, making it an ideal environment for those looking for some social interaction. Additionally, the lounge offers drinks and snacks, making it perfect for a little relaxation at night or a light breather after a day of sightseeing. During my stay, I used a dormitory room. The bed spaces are compact yet very functional, allowing for privacy. Individual lockers with locks are also provided, ensuring the safety of valuables. Having hangers available makes it convenient for organizing luggage while traveling. The shared shower rooms and wash areas are clean and very pleasant to use. The charm of this hostel does not stop there. It offers affordable accommodations, but also provides a great balance of comfort and warm service. The staff is friendly and responds diligently to inquiries regarding sightseeing information, making it recommended for first-time visitors to Tokyo. Grids Tokyo Ueno Ekimae Hotel & Hostel is an accommodation option with excellent balance between accessibility and comfort. I will definitely choose this place again for my next stay in Tokyo!

Especially at the café space on the first floor, I could enjoy a leisurely time and also have a little interaction with other guests. Furthermore, Ueno Park and Ameyoko are within walking distance, making it ideal as a base for sightseeing. During my stay, I was able to fully experience the local culture and vibrant streets, and naturally thought, 'I want to come back here again'.

Ueno Station is large, and it was a bit unsettling to walk a little from the exit at first, but it’s easy to find. The hostel was mostly filled with foreigners. I didn't have breakfast, but the communal area seemed like a good place to have tea. There is a female-only dormitory, and there were no problems using the bed and washbasin. It’s necessary to bring your own towels and skincare products, and I felt it would be a bit difficult to handle wet towels.

Grids Tokyo Ueno near JR Ueno Station. A 2-minute walk from the Iriya Exit of Ueno Station, which is served by JR lines and subways. The stylish building that doubles as a cafe space is the hostel I stayed at today. It was my first hostel stay in Tokyo. I filled out the check-in form in advance and visited. Even though it was before check-in, I was able to leave my luggage and borrow the cafe space for a little meeting. It had Wi-Fi and outlets, making my stay comfortable. Additionally, the dormitory had space for luggage storage, making it easy to take my luggage in and out. The location was so convenient that I could return home without getting lost even late at night 🙌.
