It is a tour of the beautiful streets of Gion, shrines and temples with a neighborhood guide, "OMO Ranger". If you take a walk in Gion in the early morning when the silence has come, you can get a glimpse of life in the town of Gion, which you can't usually meet, and you will be happy both physically and mentally. ・Gion Tea Ceremony Experience (activity/experience) If you find your favorite Japanese sweets while strolling around the town of Gion, return to the hotel (tea room) and experience the tea ceremony. You can grind tea leaves with a tea mill provided at "OMO Base" or make your own matcha using matcha tools. Three women decided to stay together and chat away! We stocked up on side dishes at the basement department store of Kawaramachi Station and enjoyed our hotel stay. The room even had a kitchen, so it was convenient for warming up and cooking a bit. Facing Shijo Dori, there were convenience stores nearby, making it safe even for late-night shopping.

The inn is located right in front of Yasaka Shrine! It has an excellent location that allows for an early morning stroll in Kyoto ❤️. As soon as you enter the room, Ryukyu tatami mats are laid out, allowing you to relax barefoot. I enjoyed my night in Kyoto so much that I almost checked in at midnight, but they welcomed me with smiles. If you make a reservation in advance, they offered to prepare a set for baking fresh bread in the morning, but I forgot to request it! After my morning walk, when I mentioned I was hungry, they kindly told me there was a locally popular bakery just a couple of doors down, accompanied me to the shop, and even prepared drip coffee as a service. I was deeply touched by Hoshino's hospitality.

One of the most wonderful places among Hoshino Resort OMO5 is Gion in Kyoto. It's right by the station, and the room decor is lovely. It's the best to use this as a base to stroll around the city in a kimono.

The Best Accommodation for Families!

Located right next to Yasaka Shrine, this place has the best sightseeing location. When I visited with a stroller, the staff helped carry the stroller since the entrance had a few steps down. The rooms require you to take off your shoes when entering, making it safe for families with babies. The room comes with a kitchen equipped with all necessary cooking utensils. The room is quite spacious with a large table, which made it very easy for the family to have meals together. The bath is also relatively large, and I didn't feel cramped even with children. For breakfast, I added freshly baked bread from the room's bakery. Being able to eat freshly baked bread in the room, while getting the kids and myself ready, was the best! The fridge is quite big, so it might be good to prepare breakfast as well. There is a free activity tour for strolling through Gion in the morning, and although I wondered how it would be with two kids, I signed up since I was told I could leave if they got fussy, and it turned out to be a private tour! Gion is usually crowded with tourists during the day, but it was really quiet in the early morning, which was amazing. In the end, I also enjoyed some incense tea, making for a very satisfying stay.

I used OMO for the first time during my trip to Kyoto! Located right in the middle of Gion, with Yasaka Shrine right in front and close to Kawaramachi, it’s incredibly convenient for sightseeing. Although it’s a bit removed from the area with many casual dining options, this makes it very quiet at night. Taking a stroll to sober up on the way back felt really nice. The room was spacious with a kitchen, and although I only stayed for one night this time, it would be enjoyable to stay for 2-3 nights to get takeout from local restaurants and feel at home by making simple meals too. With a low bed and independent bathroom and washbasin, I think it would be easy to stay here with kids as well◎ It was a hotel perfect for a trip, allowing me to enjoy both excitement and the calmness of modern Japanese style.
