I finally visited the OMO7 in Kochi, which has been open since June 2024! It's so beautiful! The stains on the sink stood out because it's so clean, but it's still in great condition! I added breakfast for an extra fee, and there were local foods that were unique to Kochi. I got to try the countryside sushi that I was curious about and was very satisfied!

It was conveniently located near the airport, making it easy to access places like Hirome Market. Since it was before renovations, there wasn't much OMO-like atmosphere except in the lobby (the coin numbers were a great deal), but I was happy about the ice cream after check-in.

We visited Kochi Prefecture for sightseeing. Fortunately, we found availability about a month prior and swapped our booking from another site to this one. For a weekend stay, we were able to book for over 30,000 yen for two, which was much cheaper through Hafu. It's very convenient to make last-minute changes right before the trip, and weekend stays are overwhelmingly cheaper through Hafu. 【Check-in & Check-out】 The front desk staff guided us, allowing for a smooth check-in. Just keep in mind that the room cards do not have the room number printed on them, so it's important to remember it. 【Front Desk Service】 There was an amenity corner right next to the front desk. Additionally, they provided a sightseeing map of the hotel area, which was enjoyable visually as well. 【Room】 The room was spacious, and the bed was just right. Since there's only a shower, it's better to use the large public bath for relaxation. 【Bath & Public Bath】 There are indoor and outdoor baths and a sauna for both genders. They do not alternate in the morning and evening. At the entrance of the bath, there were self-service tea and yuzu ginger available. 【Access】 There is a bus from Kochi Airport to Kochi Station, which takes about 30 minutes. Using the streetcar from Kochi Station is convenient as well, but it's somewhat distant from the downtown area.

Hotels were expensive during the New Year, so we used HafH to stay affordably for our family of four! The tram was also just a short walk from the hotel, making it convenient to visit Hirome Market and Kochi Castle. The Utage Semi-Suite room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The open-air bath surrounded by trees was fantastic!

An Exciting Stay for Both Adults and Kids

A family trip with a 6-year-old preschooler and an 11-year-old. The semi-suite room for three was spacious and clean with a lovely view! If it were just the adults, we could have enjoyed a whole day staying at the hotel while enjoying delicious drinks with the view. However, with the kids, we hit the town! My son, who loves all kinds of vehicles, was thrilled to ride the streetcar for the first time. The vibrant atmosphere of the Hirome Market raised our spirits naturally. In the large public bath area that we were looking forward to, there was a surprise service of tea, yuzu ginger juice, beer, and ice pops, pleasing both adults and children! The Yosakoi live show held at 9 PM was something I particularly wanted my daughter to see, but she got too tired and crashed. Instead, my son, who I thought wouldn't be interested, participated and really got into it! It seems to have been a memorable experience for him; even now, back home, he sings and dances to show me.

Fun Hotel Trip in Kochi

I've always wanted to stay at OMO7 Kochi, so I made a bold move to book it during New Year's when accommodation costs are likely to be the highest of the year using Hafh, which maintains coin numbers. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a cute Tosa dog wearing a traditional New Year's kimono. The highlight was the Yosakoi dance at the grand staircase starting at 9 PM! The kids looked like they had a lot of fun participating in the dance and cheering with tambourines🎵 After it ended, there were juice, sake, and sweet treats served (it might be a limited-time offer). The large public bath has towels provided, which is great for a spontaneous visit. They also offer tea, yuzu ginger post-bath drinks, and ice bars. There was even a small can of beer available, so they really thought of everything. I've stayed at OMO7 in Osaka and Asahikawa, and each has its unique color, making it interesting🎵 I really appreciated the Hafh reservation, which allows free cancellation until the day before and maintains the same coin numbers—especially beneficial for families with children.

Anyway, I am having so much fun with the walking activities of the OMO brand of Hoshino Resorts, and I am visiting various OMOs! This time, since I wanted to keep costs down while pilgrimage traveling, I opted for dining out to make the weekend feel more worthwhile. Let’s get a seat that’s easy to see for the original Yosakoi dance show held every evening by the hotel staff a bit earlier. Also, I participated in an activity with the Omo Ranger, touring Kochi’s Sunday market, "Sugakiichuu, the number one Sunday market in Japan!" The vegetables were cheap and fresh, but I couldn’t take them back on the plane, so I bought a mackerel sandwich at the bakery using yuzu yeast introduced by the Omo Ranger, and after checking out, I enjoyed it in the hotel lobby with local beer from Kochi, and it was incredibly delicious! The lockers for guests were also very easy to use and large, so I was able to utilize them before check-in and after check-out as well. Of course, the room was clean and comfortable, and being on a high floor with a great view made me very satisfied.

Although it's not easy to understand from the facility page or homepage, there is a charming large public bath. It has a sauna, cold bath, and a space for relaxing, making it satisfying for sauna enthusiasts. I went in three times during my stay, and it was mostly empty, which made it very comfortable. The hot spring lounge area offers two types of drinks, enhancing the overall satisfaction. The first-floor lobby features a comfortable computer workspace called 'OMO BASE,' making it a great recommendation for those who wish to work. I stayed on the 11th floor, and the view was excellent, with a clean and comfortable room ensuring a pleasant stay.

There was a Yosakoi live event starting at 9 PM, and it was an event where the audience could also participate with Naruko sticks, making it fun for everyone☺️. I attended on Saturday, and it would be good to take your seats about 15 minutes early‼️ It was very popular and seats were full before the event started. The large bath at Tosanoyu was great♨️, with an outdoor bath and sauna✨. After the bath, you can relax at a space where you can drink yuzu ginger🫚 and hojicha. Be careful, though, as the rooms only have a shower space⚠️. In the cafe space, I ordered a katsu dog and myoga lemonade☺️. The katsu dog had a sausage with a katsuo flavor mixed in, so it was a hot dog🌭, but it was... a katsu dog✨. The myoga lemonade was cute and had a strong myoga flavor💓. The room was simple and calming. The hotel has a water server, so even though there was no water in the room, you can refill your bottles if you bring them with you🙆‍♀️.

Although it is a bit far from Kochi Station, Harimaya Bridge, and Hirome Market, you can enjoy the culture of Kochi just within the facility. You can watch Yosakoi performances at the hotel and taste local sake and snacks! Of course, when you want to go sightseeing in the city, you can reach the tram station in about 2-3 minutes. The room is compact, but besides the bed, there is a chair and a desk, allowing for a relaxed stay. Also, I could enjoy a beautiful view of the Kagami River from the window. There is a large public bath where I could unwind and relax.

Staying solo on a beautiful travel day! After sightseeing at Katsurahama, I checked in after 3 PM. The room, while simple, was comfortable to spend time in! Since it was on the 19th floor, the view was also great! Although there was only a shower room and the bathroom was separate, there was a large public bath, so it was completely fine! I also liked that there was a separate washbasin. Next to the bed, there was an outlet with USB type A and C sockets. At the entrance to the public bath on the 5th floor, there were towels, so I didn’t have to take any from my room. There were also lockers for valuables. There was a large indoor bath and sauna, and outside there was an open-air bath and cold bath. After the bath, you could drink self-service "Ikegawa First Tea" and “Ginger Yuzu” at the tea station. At 5 PM, I participated in an activity called "Tosa Okakyou Course" (optional and free). They explained the platter cuisine and parlor games with a video. You can also experience the parlor games (participation by nomination/limited number of people). It was unexpectedly fun (about 20 minutes). At 6 PM, I headed to the 2nd floor for a dinner buffet. When I told the staff my name at the reception, they explained the recommended dishes and guided me to my table. You can see the making of the highlight, "Grilled Bonito with Straw"! I could see the process of preparing, lighting the straw, and grilling the bonito through acrylic! This is a point where you want to film with your smartphone (be careful not to get too close as it's hot). Once grilled, they provided it to me immediately, and I could have as many servings as I wanted, so I ate a lot! There were also dishes unique to Kochi and buffet staple dishes. At 9 PM, I watched the "Yosakoi Gaku En Live". There were naruko (clappers) placed on the grand staircase, so I was ready with one in each hand! First, they explained the history of Yosakoi with a video. Then they taught us how to hold and play the naruko. The Yosakoi Gaku En Live consists of 3 parts. 1: General Yosakoi Viewing 2: Yosakoi Lecture & Dance Together 3: OMO7 Kochi Original Yosakoi Viewing The Yosakoi lecture was by nomination and had restrictions on the number of participants. *The choreography is not too difficult. Day 2 I went to the public bath early in the morning. The open-air bath in the morning is the best!! After getting ready, I participated in the Sunday-only activity, "Sunday Market Guide". I took a tram to Harimaya Bridge. The road leading to Kochi Castle becomes a pedestrian paradise, with many shops lined up. They sell not only food ingredients but also traditional crafts and flowers. After strolling for a while, I returned to the hotel, relaxed in my room, and checked out at 11 AM. It was a fun trip!

Late August 2024 I came for a stay from Tokyo while a typhoon was approaching! I summarized points to enjoy OMO7 Kochi depending on the weather conditions, so please refer to this(^^) 【OMO7 Kochi】 1. View from the guest room The guest room I stayed in was on the 9th floor. If it’s clear, the room with a view of the Kagami River shows beautiful mountains and cityscape reflected on the river! Even on cloudy nights, the night view is lovely! 2. Large Public Bath There are towels provided at the entrance, so there’s no need to bring one from the room. You can go in as many times as you want! There is a large public bath, open-air bath, sauna, and cold bath. The open-air bath feels great whether you go in the morning or at night(^^) 3. Tosa Okkyaku Course You can experience a description of Sashimi platter cuisine and traditional games at a banquet! Participation is voluntary, but I hope you experience it and make some memories! Also, instead of alcohol, you will drink locally famous fruit juice! 4. Buffet (Breakfast & Dinner) There is a wide variety of food, and live cooking is available! The bonito tataki has impressive presentation, so be sure to capture it on video with your smartphone(^^) Also, the sweet potato tempura and sweet potato snacks are delicious, so sweet-toothed people must try them! 5. Yosakoi Live Performance An exclusive performance by the staff of OMO7, dancing Yosakoi is available only for guests. You can also make noise with the Naruko (a Japanese traditional instrument) and join in the dancing. Due to the size of the stage, it may be difficult for everyone to participate, but watching children dance is adorable! The OMO7 original Yosakoi is also impressive, and it’s a must to capture it on video with your smartphone(^^)

It was my first visit back to Kochi Prefecture in a while. My accommodation was "OMO7 Kochi" developed by Hoshino Resorts. This is the first "7" in the OMO series. It is probably a renovated old accommodation facility that has reopened. The rooms are beautiful, equipped with twin beds, a small table, and a cushion sofa in between that is nice. ✅ The large bath has a sauna ✅ The outdoor cold bath and relaxation chairs are great ✅ Breakfast is an additional 2500 yen ✅ It takes about 15 minutes to Hirame Market by tram ✅ Pets are also allowed to stay

Used in September 2024. This time, I reserved the "Utage Twin Room" (the room shown in the photo of fingers). I think it's slightly wider than the "Utage Queen Room." *When checking in, they only handed me the room key without any explanation (was it just me?). If you don't ask, you might be confused. There's a QR code that provides details on bath times, but it feels very minimal. So, here are some detailed points: *Checkout is at 11 AM. *There is no bathtub in the room (there might be one in the suite). *There is a big public bath, sauna, and open-air bath. You don’t need to bring towels; just the room key is necessary. You can enter until 1 AM at night and 10 AM in the morning. *The parking fee is 1000 yen for a single entry and exit, regardless of whether it's for 1 hour or 1 week. You can leave your car until 3 PM on the checkout day. *Meals are by reservation, and I couldn't make it in time for dinner on the day itself. *You can smoke in a booth on the first floor. *Rental items like room lights and trouser presses were not available, but the room's lighting is bright, and you can rent an iron. *There is a luggage cart available. *As mentioned, since I opted for a double room, it was slightly larger. However, it feels like a bed and a hallway, with limited open space and an exposed closet. The desk is convenient for work, there's no coffee service, but tea is provided. *The big bath is about 41 degrees Celsius, and there’s an open-air bath. The open-air bath has a unique structure, with wooden fences hiding the upper half, giving limited openness, but the ceiling is high, and the sound of insects was beautiful. The sauna was about 82 degrees Celsius, and it was warm. If you prefer lower temperatures, it might feel hot. I stayed at other hotels this time, but it seems that all hotels in Kochi have a higher temperature setting.

The hotel is on a high floor with a great view! On the night of the pre-festival, there’s also a fireworks display. It is a bit far from the launching site, but for those who want to avoid the crowds, you can enjoy it from around the hotel, and for those who want to get closer, it's easy to reach the area near the mirror river via the Tosa train.

I visited the newly renovated OMO7 Kochi, which reopened on June 13, 2024. I went about a month after it reopened, so it was still quite fresh. I flew into Kochi Airport, and it was a smooth ride from the airport via the airport shuttle bus! I had both dinner and breakfast at OMO Dining! I saw two activities at the facility: 1) Tosa Okyaku Lecture: Understanding Everything About Okyaku 2) Yosakoi Rakuen LIVE 1) This lecture helps you understand Kochi's 'okyaku' culture, and there are hands-on experiences where you can participate. They use 'Ripple', a soul drink of Kochi (a lactic acid drink), instead of alcohol, so minors can also join. 2) This is a chance to enjoy the famous Yosakoi Festival in Kochi. You can borrow naruko (clappers) to enjoy while joining in.

I'm a traveler exploring various OMO locations across Japan. This time I came to OMO7 Kochi. The Nikko Hotel, where I previously stayed, has been renovated and reborn. First, I enjoyed the hot springs, and then I took the ‘Tosa Okaku Course’ where I could learn everything about the area. In the evening, I enjoyed delicious Tosa cuisine at the recommended Horikawa. The garlic toast I had at this izakaya was amazing 😊 Then in the night, I participated in the 'Yosakoi Live Performance' and danced on stage with my Naruko. This experience was made possible because I met HafH. For me, as a weekend traveler, HafH's system is incredibly beneficial.

The view was amazing. Depending on the room, you can see the famous mirror river in Kochi Prefecture as shown in the photo. The service of the hotel was also excellent, and upon arrival, I was offered free local gourmet ice cream and local sake from Kochi Prefecture. The bath was also great, with a sauna and a spacious changing room where I could relax and spend a leisurely time. After the bath, I got to enjoy some ice cream for free in a relaxation room!

Rebranded and opened, OMO7 Kochi It definitely feels like a Hoshino Resort. What was surprisingly good was the large public bath! I went there three times during my stay because it was that good. The sauna is also exquisite, and you can relax on the outdoor benches while enjoying it. At the post-bath area, there’s an all-you-can-drink service for original drinks, ice candies, and beer. It was a place I would love to visit again soon!

Since it was a solo trip without renting a car, the limousine bus from Kochi Airport and the streetcar station were conveniently nearby. The room exceeded my expectations in size and had a great view; it was very comfortable! Saturday seemed to be crowded and competitive for reservations, but I would like to book again through HafH if I find an opening.

After a 3 PM check-in, I bought coffee from the counter. I loved the robust flavor of the dark roast. I went straight to the large public bath. I was thrilled by its spaciousness and cleanliness. I relaxed in the room until 5 PM. The fluffy futon was perfect for a short nap. At 5:30 PM, I took a leisurely walk from the hotel to the town for tonight's feast. After drinking and eating a lot, it was great that the public bath was open late when we returned to the hotel. After 11 PM, we played cards and had a pillow fight in the room. I woke up at 6 AM and headed to the public bath. The morning light shining into the bath made it bright and uplifting. At 7 AM, I took a walk around the hotel while looking for breakfast. I leisurely spent time in the public bath and the room until the 11 AM checkout. I was more than satisfied given the price. My friends, who went with me, also said they didn't want to go home.

I thoroughly enjoyed the newly created omo buffet and the Yosakoi dance. It's a hotel that serves as a destination for travelers. 1.Access Don’t you think Shikoku feels far for those in Kanto? However, the flight from Haneda to Kochi takes about an hour and a half, and you'll arrive in no time. I booked a JAL flight using hafh, and even during popular time slots, you can reserve it using the same coin amount, making it perfect for weekend trips. It takes about 40 minutes by express bus from the airport to the hotel, and you reach the hotel within 5 minutes from the bus stop. Just be careful as Suica can't be used here! 2.Before Check-in: Cafe I arrived in the morning, so I stored my luggage in a self-service locker at the hotel and took a break at the cafe. The sweet potato frappe was almost like a parfait. There are also unique desserts and light meals available that are characteristic of Kochi, so you might want to try them! 3.Room The space is spacious, which is great because you can walk barefoot, and the cushions between the beds make it cozy. However, the layout seems to utilize the structure of the hotel before its renovation, so it doesn't feel very much like omo. I preferred the rooms at omo7 Osaka. It would have been nice to have a daybed like the ones in Osaka. 4.Okyaku Course At 5 PM, a course where you can learn about Kochi's culture was held, which included a corner to try out Kochi's drinking game with cups and chrysanthemums, providing a real experience. However, it's done with juice instead of sake, so it's safe for children. 5.Buffet This is highly recommended! It offers a complete collection of Kochi's gourmet dishes. While the number of dishes is not excessively large, the quality of all the food is very high. Even on a short trip, you can taste all the famous dishes of Kochi, including Katsuo Tataki, dumplings from street stalls, and countryside sushi. 6.Sunday Market Tour You can visit shops recommended by the Omorensha together, so it's reassuring even for first-timers. It was a wonderful accommodation that made me want to stay another night.

With OMO opening in Kochi, I finally visited a place I had wanted to see. Kochi has the OMO7 large hotel, and the neighborhood map is well-organized. The rooms are spacious. The lobby level and the second floor have large stairs where every evening, employees hold Yosakoi live performances, creating memorable experiences in Kochi. The bath is also spacious, and the tea and ginger drinks are delicious. The breakfast buffet features plenty of local dishes like bonito and countryside sushi.
