The location is excellent. I stayed for the Gion Festival, and I could easily walk around the floats, which were also visible from my room’s window. The bus stop, subway, and Hankyu station are all nearby, making it easy to go anywhere, and access from Osaka is convenient as well. The service is simple, but it has everything I need, and the staff is friendly. I have already used this place twice, and I will continue to rely on it as my regular accommodation in Kyoto.

This time, I chose a hotel based on price rather than room size and hospitality, as I visited Kyoto to participate in the hafh travel week event! I was able to stay at this inn for 248 coins for one night (275 coins normally). It has become increasingly difficult to find accommodation in Kyoto for under 10,000 yen per night, so 8,000 yen for a weekend night was excellent. There are a few other good points as well. The first is that it has a bathtub. I thought it would only have a shower considering it’s an overseas hotel, but it had a small bathtub, which is nice for those who want to take a soak. The second is that it is very close to the station, with bus stops right in front. Since I chose it based on price, I hadn't considered the location, but there are several bus stops right in front of the hotel. Also, while it was said to be a 7-minute walk to Shijo Station, I reached the ticket gate in just 4-5 minutes depending on the exit! The third is that there are many convenience stores and restaurants around. There were plenty of chain stores and also some well-known eateries from Instagram, etc. There were several 24-hour shops nearby, so it’s a great environment for getting meals at any time! The hotel staff was mostly foreigners, but they were smooth and clean, and I felt I could stay with peace of mind. Because it's quick to get to Kyoto Station by train or bus, I definitely recommend it to those who want to prioritize cost-effectiveness in their hotel stay!

I received an invitation to Kyoto Travel Week from HafH, and decided to participate without hesitation. Ibi's Style Kyoto Shijo has a great location. There’s a supermarket, FRESCO and LIFE right across the signal, which is convenient for in-room dining. Next to it, MOS BURGER and across from it is the self-service Maidō-ōkini Shokudo, which is convenient when I want to have a quick meal. While the main entrance of the hotel is nice, I prefer the back entrance which is more Kyoto-like, entering through the noren after turning into the side street. The room is clean and compact. Despite being on Shijo Street, it's quiet. The bathtub is round and spacious, allowing for a relaxing bath. There’s a bus stop right in front, so it’s easy to go anywhere. I enjoyed my stay while exploring Kyoto.

It's a beautiful inn that was just renovated last year. We stayed for multiple nights this time, but be careful, as you need to ask for towels and other amenities. The location is convenient, with good access and a convenience store nearby.

I stayed at 'Ibis Styles Kyoto Shijo'. I had heard the name and had passed by the hotel a few times. ▢ Exterior and Entrance The design allowed me to feel the essence of Kyoto, especially with a 'Japanese' atmosphere that would surely delight foreign tourists. There was a hotel sign along the main road, and as I entered a small alley, I encountered an entrance like passing through a noren curtain. The exterior perfectly blended with Kyoto's streets (make sure to check the photo on the top page!). ▢ The Room It was a simple and functional guest room. What was particularly convenient was the small magnifying mirror in the bathroom. It was useful for a quick self-grooming check. ▢ Surrounding the Hotel Within walking distance, there were FamilyMart, Mos Burger, and Yayoi-ken, so I had no trouble finding meals. Additionally, Fresco (a supermarket in Kyoto) and Life are also nearby, both open late, making it easy to purchase Kyoto ingredients, probiotic drinks, and alcohol.

A convenient location just a short distance from the city subway Shijo Station and Hankyu Karasuma Station, making it easy to move north-south and east-west. Affordable as well, the facility is clean. True to Kyoto style, there is a small garden laid out with white sand that can be seen from the lobby on the 1st floor. The rooms are simple yet adequately equipped. I worked at night, and Wi-Fi was reliable without any problems. Additionally, there’s a convenience store just three doors down from the hotel, which is another convenient factor.

Only a 4-minute walk to the subway and Hankyu station, and there's a bus stop right in front, making it a very convenient location. Plus, the coins are cheap! The room was a simple single room, but the entrance and lobby created a Japanese ambiance that made you feel the essence of Kyoto.

It's a standard hotel! That said, there is a small sofa and chair, making it very comfortable for a solo stay! Just a heads up, there is no USB charging, so having an outlet plug is essential! The sink is a bit small, so you need to be careful when washing your face.

There are restaurants nearby, along with a supermarket and a FamilyMart convenience store, so if you want to have a reasonable dinner, you can buy food there. You can also take a 30-minute walk to Heian Shrine. It's within walking distance from Hankyu Karasuma Station. A convenient location. The amenities are eco-conscious, requiring you to bring what you need. The toothbrush is wooden, and the toothpaste comes separately in a paper bag. There's also toner and shaving kits for men. The reception staff are very kind and helpful. When I asked for information about nearby restaurants, they provided me with a hand-drawn map. Such gestures are somehow heartwarming. By the way, check-out is at 11 AM, which is also a bit nice. Additionally, if you download the official app, you can get a 1-hour late check-out and stay until noon.

A hotel chain that originated in France. There’s a branch near Kyoto Station as well. It seems to have opened in November 2021. Kyoto has many hotels to choose from, but this one was a great deal available through HafH, so I made a reservation. I walked a bit from Hankyu Omiya Station and arrived around 10 PM. The room was a single room next to the elevator on the third floor. Upon entering, the air conditioning was on and it was warm! What I found troublesome was that there was no USB port. I forgot my power adapter, so I borrowed a mobile charger from the front desk.

I stayed overnight to participate in the HAF Travel Week😊 It was easy to find the hotel as it is along the road and within walking distance from Hankyu Karasuma Station and Shijo Subway Station. The hotel was clean and compact. After registering as a member, I received a drink and could stay until a late checkout at noon. While there was some dust to notice in cleaning (specifically in the bathroom and ventilation), the room was neatly organized and comfortable to stay in 😊 I had to borrow a phone charger from the front desk since there wasn’t one in the room. Fortunately, they promptly assisted me, and I appreciate that 🙏 🔻Pros🔻 The bus stops right in front, and it’s convenient to access both Hankyu Station and the subway on foot. Compared to other hotels, you can stay with fewer coins. It’s just one station to Kawaramachi, which is also within walking distance◎

It's about a 5-minute walk from Shijo Station on the subway. There was a Family Mart just a bit ahead of the hotel, and a Fresco supermarket across the big street. The room was a standard single, but the bed was a double size. I was able to use it comfortably. There were two towels as well. Amenities are not in the room, so you need to get them at the front desk. Perhaps they are considering the environment? They were made of paper. I was surprised that the toothbrush handle was made of wood. The room key was also wooden. The bathtub was spacious, and as someone who absolutely wants to soak in hot water, I was delighted. Many of the guests were from overseas, so check-in and check-out took some time. I think it's better to go with some extra time. I live in the Kansai region, so I don't often get to stay in Kyoto, but since the number of coins is few, I thought it would be nice to use it for short trips in the future.

I stayed during a weekend of extreme cold. It was snowing outside the whole time, but it was convenient to move around since it was close to Karasuma Station. I'm not good with heating, but I was able to spend time warmly and comfortably even with the indoor air conditioning turned off. The outside was Japanese style and the interior was Western style, both were lovely.

ホテル宿泊時は、祇園祭の真っ只中。ホテル内の音楽もお囃子で、部屋からは鉾も少し見ることができました。 フロント横の出口は京町家な造りで洋風な客室とのギャップに感動しました。 スタンダードシングルに泊まりましたが、狭いと感じることなく過ごせました。 荷物を広げることもできたのが良かった。 浴槽もあるので歩き疲れてもお湯に浸かれる安心感がありました。

The hotel is just a 4-minute walk from 'Shijo Station' on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, providing excellent access. It is also accessible directly from Kyoto Station, and is close to 'Karasuma Station' on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, which leads to Gion and other areas, making the location very convenient. There is also a FamilyMart and a small supermarket just a 2-minute walk away, so there were no inconveniences for shopping. The room is compact, but should be sufficient for a hotel stay focused on sightseeing.

Around the area between Shijo Karasuma and Horikawa. It’s a bit of a walk from the station. The lobby has a garden and is a calm space. The room was a single, so it wasn’t large, but it was clean and sufficient for my needs. Unlike many places recently, it seems that daily cleaning is provided even for consecutive stays. The layout of the floor is a bit unusual, so you need to turn a few corners after getting off the elevator to reach the room.

I was looking for an affordable place to stay for work in Kyoto and found this accommodation. The entrance gives a traditional Japanese feel, while the inside features modern decor, compactly organized with all the necessary amenities, making it comfortable. It's very accessible as it's just a short distance from Shijo Karasuma, and I would love to use it again. The key is a wooden card key, reflecting a plastic-free style. Amenities can be taken as needed from the lobby.

If you check in during the bright hours, I recommend entering from this lovely side street instead of the main road, as it has a nice atmosphere. You can feel the unique streets of Kyoto as you enter the hotel. The room is compact but comfortable. The bath, in particular, is quite spacious and nice. If you register as a member, you can receive a drink and extend check-out until noon. I had a lemon sour.

I saw a dry landscape garden at the front desk. I was moved to experience Kyoto even within the hotel. As soon as I entered the passage from the sidewalk to the hotel entrance, the atmosphere changed immediately. I couldn't help but want to take pictures. I was also very satisfied with the collection of items like skincare products.
